Anyone pay attention to the commercials? Two stand out as very funny, Micheal Cera for CeraVe I think it is, and the Christopher Walken one was great |

I think the result of the suspension will probably mean more people will be able to slap bomb it into an empty net without fear of a stick to the head - picklerick
I think those people will come to realize Reilly isn't the only one out there willing to sacrifice some ice time and cash to deal with that level of disrespect. |

Not that there was ever really a widespread issue with empty net disrespect goals but I don’t think anything changes |

Also him being out for say 5 games is rough with their already thin D while also battling for a playoff spot. |

A valid point, but I have a feeling most of those D men will pick up their play to one extent or another for their missing teammate. He just sacrificed for the name on the front of the jersey, so will they.
Greig's move simply cannot go unanswered, regardless of what you think of the answer provided. This board would be a gong show if a Devil did that at the Garden and no one offered a response. To say otherwise is flat out lying. |

Don't disagree that it was a dogpoop move by Grieg and warranted a response, maybe not that one but...something, however all Rielly ultimately did was (frank) the Leafs.
He's facing a potential suspension of 6 or more games while the Leafs are close to teetering on the edge of a playoff spot. I still think they make it, but he's the clear-cut best defenseman on that team. That's going to be a massive loss for them. |

Theres no defense for what Greig did, the payback could’ve been less vicious |

My guess is 3 games. And honestly I think Leafs fans will take that as a win. They've been sorely lacking this type of emotion their team has shown over the past few games, for years now. If they want to hang with the Panthers or Knights or Bolts of the world, this type of stuff is necessary.
If it's a 6 game suspension, then it's not worth obviously. |

I will give Reilly the benefit of the doubt and say that he intended to hit Grieg with his fist, not his stick. Semantics, perhaps, but I doubt crosscheck to the mouth was a specific thought or intent in the heat of the moment.

Dude it's the leafs and also just no. It's dumb. There doesn't always need to be a good guy and a bad guy in every scenario where you have to pick one or the other. What Grieg did was a Richard move, obviously. What Reilly did was was potentially dangerous and (frank)ed over his team with his recklessness. Both guys are d-bags. One guy deserves everything that comes to him from a punishment standpoint. Nobody is scared of being crosschecked in the face because it's not a rational response to anything but everyone is scared of being suspended. Cracking down on a guy being a showboaty bumhole is not a thing. also it's a rivalry |

Been out of the loop a little bit. When they blew the lead I was beyond livid. Games vs the Sharks and Blackhawks shouldn't be that hard.
Also why were Edstrom and Rempe called up? |

Just read through all the comments from the last 2 blogs.
To circle back, Morgan Reilly's hit on Greig was nothing like Dale Hunter. At least in that Hunter was just an bumhole, where Greig's actions deserved a consequence and a message. A crosscheck to the hip or a shot with a gloved hand would not send that message.
Reilly will get about 6 games, as he should. And no one across the league will disrespect their opponent like that again. As they should not. - Tonybere
If you don't want an empty goal scored against you, don't pull the goalie. The slap shot into the empty net is not new. |

I saw something where they are seeing how the depth is internally before making any trades (Lavy even mentioned that in a round a bout way). Could also be a showcase of sorts and I also think the Islander game has something to do with it. They are hitting like crazy under Roy, so maybe they want some beef in the lineup. |

My hunch is one of them will be included in a center trade and said team wants to see both guys in the lineup to decide who they want. Idk. Just one of many thoughts I have in my head lol
But yea I think you could be right where he’ll miss a game or two. How many fkin babies are these players having this year?? |

After Reilly did what he did he should’ve dropped his gloves and jumped him also |

I'll stick with my guess of 3. No prior suspension history or injury to the player, right? If it's 6, I feel like that's a strong statement by the league. Will they do it? Who knows with this DoPS. |
