Are you referring to Tocchet? Because he basically said the exact same thing after the game as I and others said during the game.

Piss poor efforts have to be called out regardless of a team’s record or who is lacking effort. Not to do so would be soft and, once again, create a country club type atmosphere. I just watched a decade of country-club hockey. I didn’t like it.

It’s been a great season to date but I’m with RT & don’t rest on the laurels of what has been accomplished. Every game is a new game & past games in the past. Good or great teams don’t look in the rear view mirror like fans would in a season like this. The goal is the cup whether this year or next etc & teams don’t get there by ever being satisfied. RT & Foote & Gonchar are great for us cuz they have one goal in mind. JR & PA set the table. Silver linings are fine & dandy but mean squat. Captain Hughes is a leader & his never enough attitude. Winning a cup it has to be taken & do everything it takes to get it not go oh well we won a round & build on it. Set the highest goal & you can get there set lower goals & you’ll never get there.

The difference is you just female dog and female dog and then whine some more. Tocchet gets pissed, measures his words then talks about what needs to be done, you are still justifying why your female doging.

See the difference, no, ok everyone here back to your regular scheduled female dog session. Team is doomed I tell ya.

I bitch and bitch? Interesting. I don’t post much anymore so I don’t know where you get that impression.

I definitely understand your trepidation, but you're being a bit dramatic, they are in the midst of what could be their best season in their history. They aren't going to win every game and they're going to get their teeth kicked in on occasion with league parity.

On to the next game against a surprisingly good Red Wings team...

- Pacificgem

Tocchet has them bouncing back after ugly losses so there is that. Best to get a potential losing streak out of the way now rather than right before the PO's. Even the best clubs go on losing streaks adversity is a good thing.

You have to forgive Makita, he gets a little mixed up trying to figure out which side of the fence everyone belongs on. There’s a lot of moaners, some can’t take cheering for a 1st place team, while others are happy that the team is playing well most nights. Uncharttered Canuck experiences!

My hockey give a poop meter is way up this season.

It's not even that they're a 1st place team, it's that the team and season isn't plagued with dysfunction.......yet

He's actually 6'8" but as my pal Booner would say, don't let the facts ruin a good narrative.

It’s kind of a blanket statement. In my case idc if I single out a player & where it goes. I’m not going to go after every player just selective on who I believe has much more to give. Generally that is the higher paid & when they suck I’ll continue to do so. It’s mostly the top 6 who have had a great season but there has been times when they’ve been less than acceptable.

Petey
Miller
Miky

Are under my personal microscope. I’m not picking on them I just expect much more namely to continue to get better. I believe they are doing this but it’s never enough & the PP is most of my ire.

We’ve been pretty lucky on injuries. We haven’t had any real losing streak but did go .500 over a 10 game stretch. That’s pretty good stuff.

On the bouncing back it is RT & staff & the players getting credit.

It’s easier when the team is on the right track. Especially after watching Benning fumble the ball for so long.

I like what Tocchet said after the game. It’s not “just one loss” in his eyes.

“These are big games and you'd like to see a little bit better from some guys. The shorthanded goals really is something you cannot do in big, critical games. You just can't. Now, like I said, it's the first loss in a long time. But it's an alert-type of loss. It's a good learning lesson. I know the guys; they're not happy and they know that there's a little bit of urgency after this type of loss."

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Flames played well. Marky was outstanding. Huberdeau looks much better with Kuzmenko than he ever did with Lindholm. Hanifin playing like a stud, upping his trade value followed by Tanev on the trade rumour chart. Winds a blowing in Cowtown!
Matinee game vs Lordy’s whipping boy on the Island tomorrow.
And Sayulita is sunny and warm! Good day to be alive!

There's not much on the farm right now but there's a couple of A grade prospects and several B.

There are a few guys that step up and be decent black aces, including Likker.

He might not ever play this year but being around the team and pace of the NHL can only help his growth. If you happen to lose some scoring to injury, he can play some sheltered minutes and get PP time.

I kinda like Bains to get a few games in towards the end of the season, Podz as well.

I wasn’t too sure on this management group, thought Rutherford had lost touch and Alvin with little experience but they’d shown they had a plan and have changed the team in a short time. They’ve got the fanbase believing and that’s something Benning couldn’t do. I’ve watched more Canuck games this year than I ever have. It’s because the product is entertaining and fun to watch.

Edit: Still a Flames fan though.

The next four are against Detroit twice, Chicago, and Washington. Only Detroit are in a playoff position (8th). None of those teams are of Boston’s calibre.
