Filip Forsberg, on his reaction to the #canucks Elias Lindholm trade: "Vancouver, they're going for it."

I think they'll add a depth Dman, that's about it. Maybe someone like Marco Scandella

Yeah, all of the sudden we're stacked down the middle. RHD depth would be ideal heading into the stretch run.

Scandella's a lefty but my point stands. Someone who can fill in on the bottom pairing for 10 or so minutes a night.

I would not trade Likker or Willander and we can't afford to lose anyone we would call up in the playoffs. I don't see us as a fit for Tanev unless his market craters.

The kid is interested in the ASG and we watched the draft this afternoon.
So bush-league, it's actually funny.

The teams all had hot mics and seemingly had no idea that the audience could hear.

Team Hughes were discussing who to pick and you could hear them discussing if Boeser would be mad if they didn't take him at one point
Later Petey picks Boeser, but they had to take a goalie for some reason instead
Boeser skates away as they select the Kings goalie instead.

We lol'd.

I really think they are not finished. I believe on the 17 they put Soucy on LTIR an have about five mil in cap room.

As far as prospects they still have DPetey as trade bait. They also have the 2025 first round pick.

They're here Friday. I liked what I saw the 3 times I watched him here last year.

I hope they don't trade any top end prospects. They don't have enough to give up. They are going to need some good ELC sooner rather than later. Especially to keep the window open.

That’s what I would do, Vegas is doing the same thing from what I’ve read.

I might watch the ASG to see Vatrano and Petey playing together. I know it is horsesh1t the game itself but I might watch to see how they get along.

I think they're going to get a physical/gritty middle 6 forward, too.
Probably before the depth Dman.
Or maybe both in the same deal.
Mikheyev &/or Garland could still be in play.

Good times!

I doubt they trade for anyone else that is going to be worth them.

I could see a 4th line upgrade over Aman. Oskar Sundqvist? He did win the cup with STL.

Defence seems kind of set. 4 Lefties 4 righties.

Pat Steinberg mentioned he wouldn't be shocked if Tanev is traded in next 48 hours on
@DonnieandDhali

On Kyper and Bourne he mentioned Flames are open to flipping Kuzmenko if he heats up here before the deadline.

Does Kyzmenkos ntc disappear when he waives it for the trade to Cgy?
Or is it still valid.
It sounded like the flames mgmt convinced him about his role with the team and it would be bad faith to flip him again in a couple weeks.

It is strange but that’s what some are saying. As I said, if that piece of gossip is true, then I feel better about the trade.

“Canucks are 51-22-9 since trading Horvat”…..saw that on X.

Also…..”Elias Lindholm will wear Thomas Gradin’s old number 23 for the #Canucks, his son's birth year. #NHLAllStar”

- Pacificgem

Isn’t that Paul Reinhart old number? So much for signing his son now.

LeBrun on TSN Sportscentre: “The Price right now for Chris Tanev I’m told is a 2nd RD pick + another asset. The Leafs have no 2nd RD picks for the next 3 years, so it’s going to take a 1st RD pick if the Leafs want to get Chris Tanev out of Calgary”

Yes it was, it’s been worn by 19 players in Canucks history, so the internet says.

Yeah, I don't see Tanev fixing that horrible D in Toronto, he isn't top-4 class any more. A good depth option but meh and Toronto's troubles are more than just the D core... getting an actual NHL goalie that can play goal and not a Grant Fehr wannabe since they get run support.

Tocchet wanted a right hand centre too and Lindholm fits that. Another RHD would be nice yes.

I like that the Canucks paid a high price to kick off this trade season. It’ll make things a lot harder and more expensive for our competitors to add for a playoff run.

I think I we are going to truly go all in here. Guentzel or Henrique are two that instantly come to mind that will help us. Guentzel makes more sense as Rutherford/Alvin seem to take the familiarity route… and not to mention Guentzel is over ppg in the playoffs with a lot of experience and a cup.

We must remember that if we’re even going to play for a cup we’ll probably have to beat Edmonton, Vegas & Colorado. That’s before we get the pleasure of playing Boston, New York or Tampa.

- I-own_da-Northwest

Also Edmonton Vegas & Colorado have to look at beating us. They are given nothing & have to beat us.
