Well, you don’t really know what you’re talking about so there’s really no sense in discussing it with you. Kinda like the on-ice product, so we’ll just leave it at that.

Looks even further away than Glendale. And as Reubs pointed out has a low population in the area. Walsh also said this about any new land deal:

Really they just have to step in and move the team. It's not worth it anymore. It's such a stain on the NHL. Bush league.

Further away from what? If you read reports you’d see the vast majority of season ticket holders and box owners are from the East valley, Scottsdale, Gilbert & Chandler. So that location, which is strange, would in fact be closer for the season ticket base.

Secondly, their practice facility is about three miles to the right of that circle and all the players also live just right of that circle.

Lastly, although a central location would be more suitable there isn’t really any land available that would fit what they want to build, according to reports from Craig Morgan, who’s the beat writer for Arizona sports. The north/south section of the 101 freeway makes it about a 30 minute drive from Chandler, as opposed to a 60 minute drive to West Glendale.

It’s just time to move them or build the arena in the proper location. BTW…the whole right side of the 101 freeway that runs north/south is native land, so they can’t build there, that’s farmland they produce crops on. Which is why you’ll see it’s mostly open fields.

I don’t have any say in the matter, I’m just giving some facts which clearly neither of them knew.

A huge part of the problem with that franchise has been the mentality of just doing something, anything.

With a properly located arena they will sell out most nights. They averaged 14,000 tickets sold way over in Glendale, with an arena in Scottsdale it would be 17K to 18k a night.

They’ve had some really poor owners, which is on Bettman and the other owners who approved them. That’s the majority of the issue with the franchise, poor ownership, always has been.

So, why aren't they trying to build in Scottsdale?

Agreed.
Although, it was always a piss-poor location, to try have an nhl team.

Only available land big enough and closer to majority of season tickets. As I mentioned.

They do want them, but they’ve stated they won’t invest any public funds for a billionaire to build an arena. Which I agree with.

The metro city of Phoenix isn’t the issue, it’s always been ownership and arena location.

Cool, sell the team to someone with money.
This has gone on for far too long and anyone who defends that abortion of a franchise is stupider than the short bus crew.

Yes, I agree, this has been almost 30 years of nonsense. They now have a wealthy billionaire owner, build an arena or fuck off and go somewhere else.

Don't the Phoenix Sun's play in downtown Phoenix, yet the hockey team can't get in the arena, probably due to Phoenix residents preferring concerts and comedians, over watching hockey
