Interesting to hear that Quinn Hughes went to the #Canucks mgmt team and said Chris Tanev is a defenceman they should target.

Not uncommon a captain would does this, but they played well together under the previous regime.

Not for one single moment or in my wildest nightmares will that happen here or for any other team in the NHL. None of those not a single one is justifiable. There is no Melander comparison on what Petey will get or deserves. In fact not 1 of those 4 contracts are justifiable on any merit or imagined merit. CAVED

Idk if WENT is accurate but generally not a fan of a player even a captain to go to mgmt. In the case of Quinn I’ll cut a tiny bit of slack cuz new mgmt weren’t here when Tanev helped Quinn. It’s simply some good info & his input nothing more imo. Maybe he wants to ensure Myers will never again be his partner? 🤪👍

Let's hope other teams out bid Vancouver, if they are interested.

Both Miller and Petey are quite capable of driving their own line. Sometimes they struggle.

Who was driving Petey's line last season when he scored over 100 points? The lotto line was only together for a few shifts in total. This season it was Petey driving the lotto line when it was put together. I don't see Miller taking over the wheel now that Petey has cooled. He's struggling now as well. Earlier this season Petey's line was hotter than hell on his incredible play... driving.

You keep pushing this narrative that he can't drive his own line but he's proven otherwise.

Last season was last season not this season. Petey came outta gate hot this season & the PP was on fire. He tailed off later then put on the Lotto line & they all got hotter than hell. He also wasn’t getting the tough minutes Millers line got & Miller still was pumping out the points with Boeser. Both lines cooled off with the 3rd line doing their magic as they’ve all season.

It’s just the evolution of this season & the ups & downs. The roster assembled & total buy in is & has been real all season.

Don’t see at as knocking Petey see it as I too want him at peak all the time. He’s his worst critic & that’s a good thing. I want driven players when it’s never enough & want more. That is a winner.

Turtle got an eight year deal for 9.5 per as a winger. He put up 104 and 109 pts per year. This is the ballpark Petey should be in.

They have been getting better. I like that Dave Hall guy for prospect reports.

He is definitely a top 3 winger but a center? I would ask why so many on here say we need a second line center as a top priority if Petey is a center?

The fact that loading up the top line has benefited the Canucks short term has nothing to do with Petey playing or not playing center. What makes you think he can't play 1C?

I’ve never put Petey ahead of Miller. 2C sure & agree better as a winger. Add a 2C & we are better for it. Petey is a great plan B if a big injury. He’s elite talent & a 200’ player sucks on the dot & out muscled there.

All discussion aside on what Petey gets it will be the highest on the Canucks & no player will pass him as the roster stands. Hughes maybe later but wouldn’t bet on that. Nobody else is even close.

Guentzel isnt a 2c. Many are wanting him. You have guaranteed it's a done deal so that includes management with their efforts gone towards a winger.
