I can't say I have enjoyed a Canucks D like this in years. Big and tough and there is definitely skill in the other end also.

I was embarrassed at the start of the year when Juulsen sucked and I was pumping his tires in the summer. He is now playing where I thought his level was at. I would say the same about XHEKAJ. Proper coaching and this kid will be a very good add.

But I agree trading a top 10 player rarely works out especially in Calgary's case lol.

If you are being realistic Petey is not the top line center. In fact I am not sure he should be playing center at all. How many here have said we need a second line center.

He is a very talented player but he is a better winger than center and should be making Turtlechuck money. That is smart cap financing by FLA and they went to the cup last year. Toronto paying top heavy has not paid off and Calgary paying Hubbie has not worked either.

McD & MacKinnon as elite C’s are worthy of their contract. One a bona fide generational talent the other won a cup. That gets paid. Draisaitl is an outright bargain & hard to name many better than him that is Matthews talent territory.

Pay for stats you get the Leafs. Bad business. Stud D get paid not named Jones Nurse. Makar 👍

I’ve never put Petey ahead of Miller. 2C sure & agree better as a winger. Add a 2C & we are better for it. Petey is a great plan B if a big injury. He’s elite talent & a 200’ player sucks on the dot & out muscled there.

Both Miller and Petey are quite capable of driving their own line. Sometimes they struggle.

Who was driving Petey's line last season when he scored over 100 points? The lotto line was only together for a few shifts in total. This season it was Petey driving the lotto line when it was put together. I don't see Miller taking over the wheel now that Petey has cooled. He's struggling now as well. Earlier this season Petey's line was hotter than hell on his incredible play... driving.

You keep pushing this narrative that he can't drive his own line but he's proven otherwise.

All discussion aside on what Petey gets it will be the highest on the Canucks & no player will pass him as the roster stands. Hughes maybe later but wouldn’t bet on that. Nobody else is even close.
