If you asked me two days ago I would have said sure but after something I heard I now have mixed conviction.

ON this part here, I have a feeling PA is not 100 % behind opening the doors of the Brinks truck to sign EP. I mentioned yesterday Money Ball. If he can fill the roster with a 9 mil Guentzel and an 8 mil Lindholm and kill two birds with one stone and get a boatload of talent back for a EP trade, then all bets are off.

This roster could be very different next year.

Petey & Kuz moved pays for that & leaves the cap increase still to be spent. Add all of the assets gained & that is a real option. Now don’t go off saying I’m trading Petey nor is Vantel it’s an example only. We get 2 vets for the top 6 & futures for the prospect pool & more cap flexibility.

No not all of it agree but as the series went on the 'timely' calls were there.

Is what it is. I wish Pat Quinn was still here to comment lol

You can not ignore what WPG has done. They are legit. Their highest paid player makes 7 mil. They moved PLD who was a pain but also wanted a ton.

You can't replace the player, but you can replace their productivity IMO. Something to keep an eye on but every time I see PA I get the sense he is not going to cripple the cap with a stupid amount of money for one player.

- VANTEL

The beauty of it all is PLD is an LAK & in the doghouse. How sweet it is in my best Jackie Gleason voice.

True and the Jets winning by committee is impressive. However Pettersson in an elite category is ahead of any Jets player really for today's NHL. Elite players get paid. Allvin and JR will need to decide what's best moving forward of course. PO's will dictate quite a bit IMO. If Petey is a no-show in the PO's things change drastically. But his reg season consistency speaks for itself. Gonna be a very tough call if he wants the farm.

Looks like getting rid of Wheeler was a good thing, too.

I was looking at LA yesterday and playing around with what EP would bring back. I think you could get Byfield Brandt and a first for him.

Just something to think about and I am sure Canucks are looking at all angles.

Can’t see Petey a PP no show. If he was then his asking will have to come down. If the opposite well then we’re are in for some good PO success is in store for us & his value skyrockets more. Win win

After all it was him wanting to wait it out.

PLD Wheeler.

I am not sure if EP plays nice with the rest of the Canucks or not but I would not be surprised either way.

Yes but cap space isn’t there V.

I’m just starting to mull the possibility of what team could or would do it. CBJ start with Fantilli?
Other ideas?

Petey is a great player no doubt, but is he worth 12 mil. I say no even though I know at todays prices it is acceptable. I look at the Leafs blowing all their cap on four players and they are no where close to a cup.

So does giving a player 12 mil for 8 years (Nylander less half a mil).

12m is about right probably fair. Doesn’t mean it makes sense if wanna build a real cup contender & for years to come. Allocating cap is the most important job for a GM imo. Hard enough to build a great winning roster as it is.

Sounds like we get the shiny blue helmet’s tonight.

I actually thought they looked better than I expected. I will wait to see how they look with the uniform before passing judgement.

Dhali saying the Canucks are scouting Xhekaj

...............................................................

This is a kid I have said I would like a few times on CF in proposals but got shot down by Canucks fans. They said he is a black hole defensively. That said I remember the same thing being said of Zadarov.

Kuzmenko for Xhekaj (cap relief) and our third round pick back.

When I was a wannabe punk playing hockey there was leggings that had a separate colour that came from the top down over the knee not on the sides. Always thought it looked dope & wonder why nobody in the NHL has adopted it.

Winnipeg, much like Vancouver, is not legit until they do damage in the playoffs. Both teams are punching above their weight right now.

It's impossible to emulate what Winnipeg is doing because they have the goalie with the best stats in the league this year playing out of his mind every night. That is the biggest reason they are so high in the standings.

Trading away a top 10 forward is never a good idea. Look what happened to Calgary.

It's so insane to consider moving your best forward while the team is in 1st place in the league
