Hahaha, have to admit I was feeling pretty good about this group after the Bolts game. The last two games seem to be a reversion to the mean though. There is still time with 29 games left and three points out of the final spot, but they need to get their sh!t together asap.

They may. Hopefully they do. Seems like we’re kind of committed to going for it for perpetuity so all we can do is hope they get their sh!t together. That’s if there is any sh!t left to get together…

Yep last year was the draft to do it. Horvat has been great BUT if the team isn’t competitive in his prime he is wasted. Weak or not you can’t keep trading first round picks especially with this team. It’s obvious at this point what needs to be done. Has been for going on three seasons imo. Lou will more then likely keep doing Lou things though and not accept reality until he retires.
- Cptmjl

I agree on lou he will continue to go for it until the team wins or is burried for years. You never know who will pan out in a fraft but this one isn't strong

History has told everyone at this point in time for a team is exactly when Lou becomes a problem. Hopefully he doesn’t follow his usual course like he did with the Leafs and Devils.

No way a lot of these players are Patrick type players. Would be a huge mistake to let Lou continue.
- ses111

Not unless players gliding around aimlessly wondering what to do but not doing anything fits the description of Patrick type players.

Silver lining here is they have 4 days off to practice and continue to work on the system Roy wants to put in place. If we sell I wouldn't mind seeing 44 21 go or 26 17. Casey takes pageau spot and Maclean takes over at 4c. Palms I like but wouldn't hate to see him go either. Martin is about cooked out there too and Wahlstrom is invisible. The problem here is if you move any of them you're at the least retooling and that's not a lou thing to do.

The team is going to be buried for years no matter what. That's OK if they somehow manage to win, but it's an inevitability either way.

There really isn't. The last wild card is normally in the upper to mid 90 point range. With 57 points and 29 games remaining the Isles would have to go something like 19-10. That still may not be enough.

They should be sellers. If I was forced to bet, I would say Lou will try to be a buyer.

Last night I was about to remark to my daughter about how much better Mayfield has been playing...then he made about four turnovers on his next three shifts. I've had all I can stand with Arnie Mayfield Arnie-Mayfield

I'm also about done with Lee as captain, saying they battled for a loser point when they were terrible all game is some weak ass poop

He's made a few of these types of comments over the past year or so that have really disappointed me. I typically figured he's just giving 'public PR speak' and maybe being more amped in the lockeroom but I really have my doubts at this point.

My mention about Nelson's occasional work ethic lapses and callbacks to the country club days just makes me wonder if some of those guys are just a bit too laid back in their approach. Regardless, we've all talked in the past about how this team seems to lack leadership. At this point, maybe Horvat or even Barzal would be better suited to take that role. Unfortunately, you have to find a way to unload Anders to make that work, which I think is nearly impossible.

😂

We both know it won’t happen but it potentially wouldn’t be too bad for them to sh!t can it for the next couple of years. They have some good pieces in place. Just need to hit on a couple of picks and find a way to add to the lineup at the end of the second year of retool. Won’t happen and we will just continue doing this till Lou retires or dies but it’s what we should do and should’ve been doing since last TDL.

The sharks took the c from thorton and he stayed on and kept working and he's way better than Lee. Hell that's real leadership from joe

He's on pace for about 19g 11a and 30 pts this season, despite having played most of it with Barzal and Horvat. That's just plain atrocious.

I still think it's a reasonably favorable buyout of him for the team. Save a lot next year, a decent amount the year after that and then it only costs around $1.7M for the two years after that. By the time he has negative cap savings, the cap could have risen $8M-10M from where it currently is.

Would send a hell of a message to the locker room as well

If the owners do not do the right thing, Lou has to do the right thing and retire. He had his time and it's time to step away.

Strip that C right off and give it to Horvat or Barzal.

Would be but lou is known for loyalty and I don't see him buying out his captain. We are going the route of the devils and leafs just accept it and move on lol

You were right with your comments. This is a soft team mentally and physically .
