Trade what you can. Build around the obvious players. Deal with the poopty contracts. I’m officially done. You can’t lose this game, the Kraken are not good. Especially after Saturday afternoon’s dud.

Edit: you have to trade Nelson. He would be by far the best pickup for a good team at the deadline. You can get a haul for him. This team is not winning any trophy any time soon.

One thing for certain; Whenever we face a goalie with a sub 900 save percentage, we'll make them look like a Vezna candidate

Ledecky and Malkin have to wake up first and do what needs to be done.

All rear view mirror stuff, but I would have preferred Holmstrom over Wally in that situation

"We did a really good job of making sure we stuck in this game and got ourselves a point tonight" - Anders Lee

I understand when players elect political speak over emotional tirades, but I find Anders' uninspirational response a bit irritating.
We're facing a team on a back to back that had won only two of their last 10 games. The Isles looked like poop for 75% of this game. By comparison Bo Horvat sounds more like what you want to hear:

"Personally, I have to be better out there. It hasn't been good enough from me, especially tonight"

Bad job by Lee and an example of not enough passion from the team. This is a team Garth build and Lou did very little to change.

What a (frank)ing joke. This guy played in the Conference Finals twice?

Hard to explain these last two games after two nice wins. This team has had trouble with consistency since those last ECF runs. This team was never able to build off those ECF and now are going backwards. Roster is stale and needs much bigger changes. Coaching was only part of the issue.

3-4-3 in their last ten. -22 goal differential. Maybe we shouldn’t trade that first round pick. Timing.

Poor performance for a team that needs to win. Dobson with a bad night. Engval should not be anywhere in the top 6. Barzal and Bo were mediocre. Without Sorokin, the would have lost that game by two or three. Not that he's a game changer, but on a positive note, I thought Mayfield had a good game. He seems to be playing smarter since Roy arrived.

I'm just happy this very talented team is no longer being held back by Lane.

Barzal was the only guy doing anything up front. Also this draft is really weak I read celebrini should be the 1st pick and will still need time to develop before getting into the league. I'm not advocating they move the pick but they aren't going to land a stud either. I think we need a roster overhaul but history tells us lou will add so who knows what's going to happen

Hahaha, have to admit I was feeling pretty good about this group after the Bolts game. The last two games seem to be a reversion to the mean though. There is still time with 29 games left and three points out of the final spot, but they need to get their sh!t together asap.

Barzal, Bo, and Dobson are probably tired carrying this team all year. Lou should be gone. Lou should not get another offseason. He does not do anything anyway during the offseason. Let Patrick take over and let him pick the GM.

This team plays like the fat-cat vets that are untouchable. This is what happens when you give out 7 year contracts to players that do not deserve it.

Barzal seemed to be playing on perimeter last night. He had one good rush, placing a backhand toward a tight spot over goalies shoulder. And a great no look feed to Bo late in the game and he missed the net by three feet.

I hope Lou doesnt give away too much trying to fix this group, but I wonder what Eberle would fetch if the Kraken are sellers? He's still a solid player and had great chemistry with barzy.

That would be interesting. I'd love to see a mock of what the roster looked like come September. Because you know this won't happen, and the old man will still be running the show.

No way a lot of these players are Patrick type players. Would be a huge mistake to let Lou continue.

Yep last year was the draft to do it. Horvat has been great BUT if the team isn’t competitive in his prime he is wasted. Weak or not you can’t keep trading first round picks especially with this team. It’s obvious at this point what needs to be done. Has been for going on three seasons imo. Lou will more then likely keep doing Lou things though and not accept reality until he retires.
