I'd prefer Wahlstrom being the one leaving, but you'd have to throw in a first if you're looking to land a player in return

I would hate to move another #1 pick.

I'm not seeing how they can really even do anything at all at this point. They'd have to move out significant salary to do anything noteworthy. I'm pretty hesitant to move Pageau unless it's a better center coming back and, outside of that, I don't really see where else they can afford to create space.

Lou would have to do something completely out of left field, like trade Nelson or Palmieri and that would be extremely surprising to me. They could waive Aho to create a little more breathing room but that won't be anything significant. Maybe Fasching also, but I'd like to keep him in the fold for next year. He's cheap and a good bottom six option.

I would hate to move Holmstrom if it is not a clear upgrade for a signed player. Islanders are in a tough spot in terms of trades.
- ses111

I agree, especially the way he's developed this year. But if he's in a package for a true top six and it gets Engvall out of there, then I'm all for it. Like I said though, if the existing team stays healthy, and they continue to build on how they've played the past two games, it's not a bad lineup.

I agree. I think the real need, if any, would be depth at RD. We have Bolduc and Aho on the left as depth, but not much on the right if someone goes down. I suppose one of the LD's could play on the right, but that's never ideal in my opinion.

I think the best thing is to run with this team and see how things play out and make moves after the season. This gives more time to Patrick with this team as well.

I wonder how much input Roy has with respect to players coming and going? Anders Lee makes 7 million per, but do his stats match? I wouldnt be too bummed if they could move him in a package. Lou loves those former Devils....I could see a scenario where he lands Adam Henrique

I’m thinking it is mostly Lou, but hopefully Lou would look for Roy’s input with Roy’s hockey knowledge. The tricky part is the Islanders do not seem to be one player away.

I don’t think Holmstrom gets it done for a legit top 6 unless we’re throwing in our first. I’m completely against trading the first and I don’t see the point in trading a young player who took a big step this season.
I think what we’ve seen from the team the last couple of games has been great but I’m hesitant to mortgage the future thinking we’re legit contenders right now. I don’t see that changing btn now and the TDL for me at least which means absolutely (frank)ing nothing of course. 😆

I agree. He'd have to be packaged. If this team is playing like they are by the deadline (and Lou hasn't already made a move) then I'd be okay with obtaining a legit top 6 LW with term. Obviously, this would require sending assets, but, wtf, I want to win sometime soon. We have many players in and near end of prime. Goalies included. Need to win soon before this team's sun sets.

Things are looking good with Patrick, but way too soon to think this team has a legit Cup chance. I think the playoffs should happen if the team can remain healthy.

Would like to keep holmestrom personally and Maclean should be in the lineup. Probably not this year though and I don't see pageau being moved as their center depth is really good but maybe chiefs could be right with 53 to 3c and Mac to 4c

Not necessarily endorsing this idea, but Adam Henrique's cap hit is exactly the same amount as Pageau's salary + Aho's salary. I would assume Pageau has the Ducks on his 16-team NTC but it would a) give them another center option from a guy having a better offensive season than Pageau and b) clear $5M off the books next year and the year after that, unless of course they re-signed Henrique

Interesting. Where would he fit in? Someone, a Dman , would have to go somewhere.

The press box. They could carry him, Bolduc, and Fasching or Gauthier as extras. That would involve them waiving or trading Aho though

That way they have a LHD and a RHD available in the event of an injury.

It's an interesting idea if they can move JGP for Henrique. I would not be interested in any long-term deal with Henrique being 33.

AWOOOOOO!

The #Flames    have recalled Dustin Wolf from the @AHLWranglers!

Additionally, Dan Vladar has been placed on the Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury.

This is good news. He and Reilly were solid depth singings by Lou.
