I would like to congratulate President Terry Pegula on the longest playoff drought in NHL history, a record which was previously held by Terry Pegula's 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres. Keep making history, Terry.

No excuses this season.

An interim coach could have fixed a lot of the issues

To do that, you need a GM with enough of a spine to make a significant move, something the Sabres don't have.

Waiting till the offseason to get your guy is one thing, but to waste another season and the prime of half the roster is another

Neuchev on a 6 game heater on the farm

Rosen had a beauty SHG today

Ostlund is on a 5 game heater in the SHL. He’s got 7 points in 4 games since the WJC

Savoie doing Savoie things in Moose Jaw.

Some positives out of this let down of a day

What do you even do this offseason? Couple significant RFA's, likely a very limited budget, bunch of kids coming, vaunted vets are UFA's and look washed, coaching staff laid an egg. I know he planned on another do-nothing summer. Is that even an option now?

I know the script: pretend it's a position of strength and wait for the Bills to distract everyone.

A coaching staff that plays to the rosters strength is a good start.

There is way too much talent on this team currently to be where we are in the standings and that’s what makes this year so frustrating.

conversation with my brother circa summer of 2016...

Damm bro, the Sabres got Eichel and Reinhart and things are looking up...Panthers just won the division with coach Gallant and finally got it going right...
Looks like they will be fighting for 1st in the division very soon.

“Yeah, I think you’re right, (you traitor ) Sabres are gonna start making the recent suffering all worth it”

Lmaolol Nostradamus we are not
FL found a way to Panther it all up and go backwards for 5 years. While the Sabres are there, always seeming to be about to make that jump up and just haven’t been able to. It took FL finding the “right” GM to make that step. Hopefully KA can make the moves needed, or else TPegula will make a move and find the one who can. Time for his organ-I-zation to stop tarnishing this jersey.

Rotate 1/3 of the crappy roster

I’m watching several coaches this year do a lot more with less.

Special teams are awful and the coach is trying to fit a square peg into a round hole at 5v5.

Injury luck doesn’t help matters, and yes the roster is lacking, but common the entire Atlantic is incredibly mid this year.

Coaching is definitely the #1 issue with this organization and I wouldn’t say firing Donnie is a scapegoat move in the slightest

If Lindy is the next one to get the axe.

Does that motivate a move to bring him home ?

Not saying I even want Ruff, but can’t be any worse then what we have now

No one in the history of this franchise is more qualified to be President of Hockey Operations than Lindy Ruff.

If Terry has any sense (cents) he will make that happen.

Pretty disappointing, the games are boring and the team sucks at home

Can’t fire all the players

Easy move is to fire the coach

What qualifies someone to be president? I'm not sure anyone knows what they would actually do. For my money, I'd say someone with front office experience would be best qualified.

Lindy as Pres sounds a lot like Marv as GM to me.

Probably clear, but I mean Kev sacrificing him to save his own job. Not sure who I blame more atm, but if I'm Terry, I'd need a solid plan to not just fire them both.

I mean with Terry don’t you just have to sit him down and feed him fruit loops ?

No clue on his mindset these days. Embarrassment used to drive him to make moves quickly.

Same guy prematurely extended these guys, so who knows.
