Deserved a bit better fate -this was a Derek Zoolander game ---- in that, in order to beat those bums from the Hawks -they had to have 2 miracle plays where the puck hit defensemen literally on the goal line.
So basically in order to win this game - effectively the Stars had to take off their undies without taking off their pants, and do it one handed too.
But that that -that's a 3-0 lead going into the 3rd- and a team wondering how the team they owned twice several weeks ago became whatever this is.

Really like that the Hawks are defending the front of the net better lately and limiting chances a bit more. Not scoring enough to win and Mrazek isn't able to steal the game, but close games at least.
Hawks are a better team when Seth Jones is playing, he does help move the puck the puck in transition. Glad to see him back in the lineup. |

It’s unfortunate that they can barely complete a pass. The effort is definitely there. They simply don’t have enough talent to compete.

Well, I OBVIOUSLY know more about the hockeys than you do.
You can see (or at least I can) Reichel’s talent. I don’t know if he doesn’t have the confidence or the trust in his teammates to do the right thing, but I’d love to see him take off. Outside of him and Richardenson occasionally, they have a bunch of guys that have each others back, but can’t keep up with NHL talent. Gonna be fun when the kids finally mature. |

Reichel definitely has talent and I think you’re bang on about confidence. Someone posted earlier that he goes wide and pulls up on a rush. When he does that he loses the advantage of his speed as a lesser defenseman can easily work him outside. Is he afraid to make a mistake? Is he afraid of contact? Whatever it is he has to identify it and figure out a solution. One day I hope he just says “(frank) it” , turns on the jets and blows by a defender, maybe something like that is what will get him on track? |

Looks like Seth Jones just picked up where he left off.
Vlasic still looks great
Korchinski still looking good
I'm really digging Raddyshs 200 foot game
Kurashev and Reichel are looking good as well
Sucks they lost because our 2nd best defenseman couldn't win a puck battle at the blue line |

Good enough at line changes not to get nailed for a too many men on the ice call?

Well, kind of hard to display any other talent considering the roster of forwards on this team. Look, Reichel probably will never carry a line, but if he ever plays with a more talented group, he will be fine, maybe Sharp like on the second line. When he was on Bedard’s line I saw a guy playing with more confidence, he was competing, he will be fine. |

Damn almost 19000 people went to the game last night, it's really turning into Wrigley Field type of fan base. |

Was that tickets sold, or actually scanned tix? If that was scanned, that’s really impressive considering the weather.
Apparently, Vlasic doesn’t need Bedard to put butts in seats. |

He's just been such nice surprise, it's nice that Bowman finally hit on at least one top 4 dman it makes up for the Seth Jones parting gift he left us.
I have a feeling he will have hit on maybe one of two more top 4 dmen when all said and done.

This is the attendance info from Pope
And i have to say for all my female doging about Connor Murphy in the past he's really been playing well this year in LR system. I think it also helps to have guys like Korchinski and Vlasic playing opposite him. Maybe that coach from Boston is also helping him as well. |

Off to see Ludwinski later this afternoon. I saw him him last year but he didn’t play much but I did see him twice the season before. He was a bull two seasons ago but had modest numbers in his draft year. This year he’s putting up over a point a game plus he’s defensively sound. I’d guess he’ll see time in Rockford next season. |

TJ Oshie is a 37 yr old often injured player who could be a salary dump. The fact that he hadn’t left Washington yet probably is due to the albatross of a contract. He just returned from a concussion suffered in December and potted a big goal in a recent NYR game
Perhaps Oshie could provide a scorer on Bedard’s line next season? Someone can check his contractual terms and see if Washington could give him away along with a draft choice
In the event KD drafts a dman or cannot scoop up a top forward prospect, Oshie could step in for one year - this provides Hayes a year to develop in AHL
Finding scoring help for next season is a big challenge in this rebuild |

We can dream Ludwinski and Misiak become third line warriors. Perhaps J Anderson or Dach eventually fill the other spot on the line Three rookies on same line - just means the following year with good coaching it could work out
I have no idea how a couple rookie prospects at Rockford are developing other than their point totals very little information on development of Saarella, Ryder Rolston, Luypen. Marcel surely is a project type player minimum two years AHL |

Guenzel reportedly wants a new contract and his agent withdrew from negotiations Does Guentzel want a big payday which he figures the Penguins cannot afford
The Penguins would want draft choices and begin a serious rebuild after they likely do not advance far - if they even make playoffs
If they trade Guentzel the Blackhawks do not seem to be a trade partner. KD will be loathe to trade draft choices. How would a scorer for Bedard look? Would we draft best player available our turn our own choice in ‘24 and it might not be a forward or the forward we hoped for?
Food for thought but no expectations right now. After the season who knows what teams might do - jhawk59
The Hawks are keeping on the path they are on. There is no way Kyle gets involved in any trades for any star players. He already stated and has stuck to building the team through draft. Hence, why we keep going out and getting retreads or AAAA players rather than adding top talent. He is doing what he said he would do and that's more than stanbo or any other gm would do. They'd switch course after a year or two. Kyle is sticking to his okay and not deviating one bit. Expect the team to keep bringing in hot garbage to fill in around the young kids. He is doing it smart and building sustainability over and over. We shouldn't be in a rush to add star players when the team isn't ready to compete. Kyle is going to continue to draft and develop his own players for the team. I dont expect us to go to Free agency and pluck any top stars. This type of thinking will hamstring us with contracts like Jones.

I was thinking along the way the T Hall and Foligno situation played out. If the Penguins GM commits to Geunzal this season because they desperately want to get into the playoffs, then what is Guentzel going to fetch after the season. Reportedly Guentzel wants a large new contract and Penguins cannot afford it
Alright you made your points and Guentzel would be too big as pertains to both a contract or talent level.
And yes KD has indicated such so a Guentzel type star is not coming to town for the payment TYPE of a I Mitchell & Regula exchange
Maybe a lesser light arrives who can try to score some goals courtesy Bedard’s helpfulness |

I am happy that this site seems to think Eiserman is an issue.
I certainly don't.
Most Central Scouting jobs are ex-NHL journeymen who are hired as transitional employees, not necessarily, welfare-like but, close.
(het and this "liberal" (you a-holes) believe in hiring people so they have jobs.
The real FUTURE issue here on this website is the fact that Kyle says he is NOT signing big time UFAs this summer, basically extending the rebuild a year.
What you see plus our added prospects is what you are getting.
No problem from me.
My only problem is dealing with all your suggestions, negativity and horsefeathers that is contrary that idea and many spending the time to state the obvious,we are not good.
(Any spellcheck or proof-reading I need to you, yet, boys?)
So why don'tcha get let itv roll, boys/

He is certainly fast, smart, and able, except when it comes to scoring, right?
but in the game you are at, it certainly looks like maybe instead of speeding , we should have considered Callum Richie instead of Moores speed, maybe????? |

I don't know people saying possibly faster than McDavid, i gotta go for the upside on a player like that especially since he plays 200 feet of hockey. I want as many pain in the ass players on the Blackhawks as i can get, supposedly he's around 200 pounds now

Agreed
Let’s hope top line sniper and especially one center and two wings in next couple drafts I love having O Moore |

Hard to say if Ludwinski can score or not. That Kingston team is not only a terrible hockey team they’re a bunch of meatheads. After almost every whistle Kingston would initiate some nonsense. Ludwinski is a smart player, and like you said a very good skater, he’s also very strong on his skates. He kills penalties, plays on the power play and wins allot of faceoffs.
Cal Ritchie is a solid player. Last year he was hurt almost the whole year and hardly got involved in the play and still put up a point a game. This season of the 5 games I’ve seen he’s the Best player on the ice most nights. He’s a completely different player than Moore. Ritchie is in the thick of the action, he plays around the front of the net and gets his goals in close. Ritchie is a strong skater but he’s not in the same stratosphere as Moore. Moore will get his points off the rush, not sure if he’s inclined to jam the net or not? But before we get too far comparing Ritchie and Moore, remember Moore made a very good gold medal winning U.S U20 team, Ritchie wasn’t able to make a second rate Canadian team. |

Loving it
Toronto looses on home ice to Detroit
Toronto had the lead too
Outhit 35-23. Where is their big tough free agent sign. Not in lineup. Employing forward prospects Robertson, Knies, Holmberg instead
Really would hope they loose a big name forward next year and one of those prospects has to step up. None of them probably will be as good as a top forward who leaves
Q: who would win if Maple Leafs faced Oilers in playoffs? Two teams who prioritized offense and haven’t drafted or managed rest of lineup all too well. Which is why they are Cup pretenders STiLL |
