I don’t think there are any kind of gods, hockey or otherwise, but no matter where the Hawks pick there will be a good player.

And that is why they will not trade out if it is slot, 5, 4, etc.
Let's not take Cole Eiserman off that top 6 either.
Or that teams in front of them at 3, 4, believing they are setting up their future with acquisition of any of the three big defenders,
Artyom Levshunov,
Sam Richardinson, or
Anton Silayev.[I]
I just don't think teams are going to ignore the fact New Jersey grabbed up Nemec, and the third Hughes and not see they have the offensive chops with feet and attack and ignore going for defense.
I am sure if any draft has had three guys this big.
Considered one of the best drafts ever for defenders, 2008 had a big Zach Bogosian, Alex Pietrangelo, and Tyler Myers besides the rest of terrific group, but I see Sam Richardinson as a "safe" pick, and teams judging the other two differently.
Artyom Levshunov on his feet, jump and offense, with the idea he Korchinski's in and learns more backline on the job.
...and Anton Silayev: does he come NOW? Is really as nasty as they say? He really has an offensive niche too? (Last two are supposedly true).
I am not saying that Kyle's drafting a defenseman with that early slot is impossible, but I look at it this way: There are plenty of season ticket holders who will stay for Bedard, bought seats because of Bedard, and they right now know what was in Rockford, what youth is here, and are not holding their breath that the selections from other draft years are going to rectify the current scoring weaknesses.
So I think that being able to select a forward early in the draft especially if they were gifted Celebrini, they do buy seats and come back.
They know he is going the BU, but he comes after that in March/April.
There is also enough video proof of Eiserman's shot to open their pocket books and not quit too soon on owning seats.
Be mindful that I have Cayden Lindstrom in my mock at slot 2 to the Blackhawks before you start pitchforking me.
Cayden Lindstrom, like the selection of Kirby Dach, is going to take time.
Dach never saw the return to junior because of things he was pro like in doing, and solid in understanding defensive play, and it was the dream of the emulsion leading him to a possible role as big centre who would score in close and help generates stuff.
I just don't see Lindstrom re-creating that mess with an early arrival.
I think that if Kyle has the chance to trade his TWO picks to move to slot #2, he will no matter which offensive forward he wants badly is there.
(Or Tampa actually picks in the bottom 15 Kyle my see the value to where the future can be bolstered by standing pat.)
If Cutter Gauthier who is from Sudbury area wants to NOT play for the Flyers, they offered him around for a second (an obvious LOW second rounder) and they wanted a top offensive defenseman for him and Ducks were the best deal.
I see how Flyers were backed in a corner and the Ducks jumped at it.
This is all about Pavel Mintyukov, who is a stud, and the big man who fills any spot that Drysdale was going veto occupy in the future. And that the three defenders the have in the CHL will fill the void. (Owen Zellweger & Tristan Luneau)
If you fellas haven't watched any of
Pavel Mintyukov, I think that will settle the argument, that he runs their power play in the future, and not Drysdale, who will get plenty of chances to succeed.
This wasn't some genius Verbeek move, Elbows....he just jumped at the chance to add a really good big man at forward
