Classifying $7.1M as almost $8M to fit a closer monetary comparison to Skinner is funny.

What's moving the needle 36? Jeff is a 30g, 25a guy on average. Even curving him up to 35g and 30a avg, there's a lot of guys in that 60-70 pt range that make significantly less. Conversely, here's so few guys making 9M, you're never going to get a perfect comparison.

Sebastian Aho just signed for 750k more...would that be a better comparison? Cap% wise, that's about even at time of signature. I don't know my friend, I just look at what 9M buys and I'm left wanting.

They can't even identify low level acquisitions that are worth the cheap prices they have been targeting.

You should also add at least a million to the AAV of players you are looking at as comparable, due to Buffalo being considered NHL Siberia.

I'd say his true comps are in the $7.5M to $8M per range, and also players who signed those deals as UFA's, as Skinner was a UFA when he signed.

Also not going overboard and claiming Skinner is overpaid by $3M when goal scorers get paid, and getting a UFA to sign in Buffalo costs at least an additional $1M-$1.5M per on the AAV.

If they would have drafted Brady Tkachuk instead of Dahlin to bolster the offense for Eichel, it would have been an easy decision.

Instead, on a d core that had Montour/Borgen/McCabe/Bogo/Risto they went with Dahlin.

W/o Eichel, skunk a tkachuk and Montour play pretty well together….
