Article on if any team this season can recreate the Blues cup run:

Buffalo Sabres
Doesn’t apply: New star, recent success

Young goalie: Devon Levi might be near the top of any list of the most highly regarded young goalies in the league. He’s been a disappointment so far this season, and there’s really no way to sugarcoat that. But if you were going to pick any team on this list to suddenly have a young goalie go Binnington on us, the Sabres would be the easy call.

New coach: Um, I’m just going to put “to be determined” in this spot and we’ll come back and check in a few weeks.

“We’re not that bad” stat: Their expected goals at even strength has been hovering around 50 percent for most of the season, which is better than any other team on this list and even slightly ahead of contenders like the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. They’ve also got 13 wins in regulation, which ranks around the middle of the pack, even with or ahead of teams like the Washington Capitals, New York Islanders and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Bottom line: I wrote this piece because I wanted to offer some optimism for fan bases that might need it, but maybe that would be cruel for long-suffering Sabres die-hards who’ve been strung along on “almost there” hope for over a decade. Let’s just say they’re young at every position, there’s plenty of talent, and if they can get the power play going and Levi flips a switch, stranger things have happened.

I guess we've learned nothing about relying on prospects

Is this the fault of the prospects? Honestly, I have thought Benson and RyJo were two of our better players this year.

I'd say it's the vets that are the anchors. Okposo, Girgs, Olo, Skinner, EJ, Clifton and Comrie were the worst of the group this year IMO.

The prospects aren’t the issue.

Peterka, Quinn, and Benson are earning their paychecks.

None of those players or the other prospects have helped gain loser points...can you explain that?

So is Noah Ostlund legit? As an overager, and after watching many great performances at WJC turn into lackluster prospects, I'm not usually floored by these stats. At the same point, he's really looked like one of the most talented forwards in the tourney.

Are we back on? Or does his 7pts in 17 games for Vaxjo show he's just better than the youngins?

Trade him for a piece that helps us next year

You're not wrong, but they'll get him going again. It's funny, of all the slumping Sabres, he's the one guy I'm not worried about. He just needs to get his feet going. JJ and Jack Be Nimble, will guide him back to the promised land.

Not against trading him, Rosen or Savoie at this point, but I'd written him off a bit...

Have you watched any WJCs? I only saw a couple, but him, Lekk and Stenberg looked amazing for the Swedes to me. He seemed to be the driver though, those guys are trigger men, particularly Lekk.

5v5 Only:

Overall 94
Off 91
Transition 94
Def 69 (hehe)

He's a good player, puts on some weight and he could be very good. Gotta see how he transitions over here.

This is one of those logical, wait and see responses, and I hate it.

It's pretty assured he's in Rochacha next year right? I thought I remembered he visited here during the AHL playoffs but can't find confirmation anywhere.

So we Sabres Fans collectively hate Pegula, Kevyn, Donnie, Wlis, Wilford, Bales...or at least the vast majority of them.

Seriously, what would be the most effective way to "voice" the fans displeasure? What would get Terry's attention?
