Aside from wondering why they would buyout Skinner after this season, I don't understand what you mean by the extra $440K you mentioned above.
- kingcong39

The original post mentioned retaining $3m to trade Skinner for nothing.

I pointed out that the buyout savings would eclipse $3m per season, with the exception of year three, which would be $6,444,000 for a savings of less than $3m ($2.66)

I misunderstood his point.

I thought it was re: the massive $6M+ cap hit for no player that was the problem, not the savings.

Who you think Adams is: Bill Guerin?!?!

I'd much rather retain $3M for each of the next 3 seasons and get nothing in return then extend the dead cap hit for 6 total seasons, and have it be over $4M in year and over $6M in year 3.

Man I wasn't even being serious about Skinner retained lol

Erik johnson scratched two nights in a row with the big apple behind the bench. Interesting

I'm ambivalent but after 12 years of sucking, whatever.

We also need roster spots for these so-called "can't miss prospects" so, yeah. Call your shot, Kevyn

- Hank Balling

The 12 year suck has me on the blow it up, it’s not working train as well. No one should be safe at this point. It’s not working and a few small or medium adjustments will lead to more of the same

He should be waived. He’s a washed up bum and we should only have to put up with one of those

I wouldn't trade Skinner for no return unless they were 100% using non roster assets to bring in a bonafide top line player

Yea I have no idea what adams was thinking with many other options available

I think its pathetic and downright embarassing how he's handled the roster and now is being forced to make moves that should have been done long ago

And how he keeps his job in the process while we continue to be the punch line of the league

None of this will happen just like Skinner is not getting moved. This is the roster.

That’s a tough goal. Perfect pass thru the box and a perfect one timer. Not much you can do except stay out of the box, captain.

Cozens needs to be moved to the wing. He is not a center. We have a serious need for real centers
