Yup. Line management has been a major issue for me wanting Donny fired.

Horrible line combination and management.

For the longest time. Jost olofsson and insert here player has been such a waste.

Agreed

Seams really odd to ever break up the 53-72-89 line?

KA hasn't helped him but Donnie doesn't help himself with some of his decisions.

Well let's see what there made off. Coming out after the Holidays and taking it to Boston would help. If they come out and sleepwalk through the first 15min and down 2-0 we might have our answer.

The kool-aid was strong this offseason.

This office has removed a critical piece every season since they have been working:

20/21:

- Let Ullmark walk
- gave away Borgen
- trade Montour for nothing
- trade Risto for futures, 3 seasons later, 0 impact back at the NHL level
- trade Skunk for futures, Levi/Kulich - might be good in a few years, minimal positive return on this (so far)

21/22:

- traded Eichel for Tuch, Krebs, Ostlund - justify however you want, Vegas won the Cup, the Sabres are not closer and are short an elite 2 way center. This was a very bad trade. The only response to any justification for this trade will be: Vegas won the Stanley Cup, the Sabres are still talking about potential.

22/23:

- Adams makes 8 nothing trades after the Eichel trade, none have had any impact on the NHL team

- Adams trades for Greenway, closing the Eichel trade - he is a 4th liner on a good team, and is overpaid.

23/24:

- trades away La-busch-can and signs Clifton for more for 3 seasons - that's bad

- Let Peca walk for no reason

- trades nothing for Robinson - who is in and out of the lineup and most likely will not be resigned after half a losing season with the NHL club.

Bott's players and Tuch having a career year saved Adams from an even worse losing season last year.

There is 0 evidence to suggest Adams can build a winning team.

His drafting, 35 picks:

7 - 1st round - 3 playing in the NHL
6 - 2nd round - 1 playing in the NHL
4 - 3rd round - 0 playing in the NHL
3 - 4th round- 0 playing in the NHL
4 - 5th round- 0 playing in the NHL
5 - 6th round- 0 playing in the NHL
6- 7th round- 0 playing in the NHL

His signings:

- All are overpaid, he has built a team that hasn't even made the playoffs into a cap strapped team before even learning the winning identity of the group.

Eichel is a top 5 Center in the sport.

Nobody ever wins a trade when they are dealing that caliber of player.

Bott’s players became Adams the second he gave them long term contracts. Tage didn’t break out until after Botts left on top of that.

He needs to acquire a top 4 d-man and a goalie to pair with Levi. We’ll see if he can do that over the course of the next several weeks

They'd have to play at 110 point pace to have a chance. Big ask.

Your optimism is somewhat admirable

Its going to be a long 2nd half of the season if they don't get it going. There is little time left to flounder

Its nothing to bet on that's for sure

This team has a myriad of issues that can't really be solved just by working it out. Goaltending would have to be hall of fame caliber and the PP would need to be the opposite of what it's been all year to have a chance

I am not saying there gonna do it, dug themselves a nice hole. And I don't think they are built right for the Hockey that is about to be played over the next few months just to get in. But we shall see.

Worst case scenario is that they go on a 100 point pace from here, miss the playoffs by 7 points, but everyone keeps their jobs and Adams embarks on another no-movement "summer of no excuses"

Best case you can make is healthy forwards change things. Will they stay healthy? That's something I wouldn't bet on because I think they are playing through things atm.

I like to think I’m a realist.

When I cheered for losses when some thought we had a good team, people hated my guts.

When I think the team is good, now I’m a rainbow grifter.

Comes with the territory I guess.

Or how about benching Ryan Johnson over Clifton or Erik Johnson?

Or heck right now playing olofsson over eric Robinson on the 4th line

The list of mistakes by Donny is staggering this year.

One game the Sabres were down by 1 goal with less than 3 minutes left. Donny sends out the 4th line needn’t a goal

It’s pathetic.

Isn’t that called Murray’s law?

Brett has been a guest professor at RIT in the nuclear rocket engineering for physics and stuff department and has already expanded the laws of physics.

Could see this being a realistic possibility

Good finish = false hope = roll it back
