I just hate a call like that determines a win for either team. Weak as hell.
- nyisles7

Agreed. The Isles slept through a good bit of this game but really came alive and dominated much of the third. Dare I say they deserved better. This is two back to backs where our second game came against a team in four days rest. Rotten scheduling.

Yea guy hits him and gets tangled but it was a trip
- Upstate_isles

You’re not getting my support on that one Ref.
I don’t like that call if it’s against the Caps.
He trips but he tripped himself Dobson didn’t trip him. That’s how I see that play.

Was it though. Technically the player did indeed trip on Dobson's stick, but NHL refs have become so hyoer-focused on can-openers that they are calling them when the victim steps into it. Dobson didn't place the stick there, the Caps player skated into his stick
- keaner17

Be that as it may its still a trip. I don't love the call

Its a trip in the same way as a player tripping over another player laying on the ice. I think that particular one might be 50/50 on getting called and lower in OT, yet here we are

It did not take away a scoring chance and the fact it's OT, it should not have been called. islanders still need to be better in back-to-back games. Today was tough though with the Caps well rested and at home.

They obviously didn’t have their legs last night after a back to back. Impressive that they hung in there with a well rested team and managed to squeeze out a point.

Twitter was full of "idc if it's a back to back these guys are pros". What do they think the other team is made up of? No matter what a team that's played the night before won't have as much jump as a rested team it just is what it is. I thought they battled through it honestly

Agreed. They hung in there. Under trotz we had some ridiculous record on the second half of back to backs but that’s not the norm. Against a well rested division rival its the second best result to a win. I’ll take it.

Reilly and Bortuzzo continue to play excellent also. Those two additions are huge now and may play an even bigger role towards the end of the season and in the playoffs if we’re in them.

The same people that think that taking a million dollars less on a contract to help out the team is something that shouldn't be a big deal for players

Who are likely the same people that have a meltdown if McDonald's forgets to put the honey mustard for their nuggets in the bag

Would have been nice to get the two points, but it was back to back games and playing a team with four days off. Cannot complain much about getting 1 point.

Sucks not to get the extra point against a division rival but better to gain the one then lose the two. Next 4 are against divisional rivals. Biggest stretch of the season.

Just looking at his stats, he seems to be having a solid freshman year

You nailed that, or the people that follow everything they do and have gimmicks like an isles fedora or a generic t shirt company although if you can make money off of it why not

He (Aho) was a -2 last night and continues to be abused in front of his own net. As I said before, Reilly makes him totally expendable
