Could he be? Absolutely, that's what he currently is. He's doing a respectable job of it too.

I like him, I just think that Parise would be an upgrade at the position and make the Islanders even better, in a few ways.

At this point, the Isles need to just be all in. They've already mortgaged the future big time, so I don't particularly care if Zach Parise is the future of this team or not. I believe he'd make them better right now and, with how wide open the Metro is, I think they should do the best they can to improve the team and he'd be a free asset they don't have to give anything up to get.

Very fair. No question the Islanders are not in rebuild mode. I still think it will come down to the top 6 forwards and the top 4 driving this team.

Just saw this and yes I agree. I certainly don’t think Wahlstrom has been wonderful but color me a bit surprised by this none the less. I figured at the very least they would give him a few games. Matt Martin has been absolutely useless the entire season leading up to his injury.

I'd rather leave Faaching on the 4th line and see if Wally can do something with JGP and Holmstrom. It's not a huge issue either way.
