I would rather pay casey 7 than pay johnson 3
okposo 2.5
girgens 2.5
jost 2

- homiedclown

Then what is your budget for the desperately needed support players for that core?

No one wanted to pay him that in the first place.

At least now he will get the 6x6 deal instead of the 7x7.

I have him as my #1 trade chip for a power forward. $6mm is manageable but this roster needs the shakeup.

Anyone see that Jones pick-6 from last night? Was that not the coolest pick-6 ever?

Oh dude you’re being rational and realistic with our roster, no, he will get 6x6 and they will praise how our (losing) core is locked up until 2030.

this team has underperformed so badly, I do not know what they need more in a trade

top 4 shutdown d man?
3rd line center?
top 6 power forward?
goalie?

you already have your larry line with robinson, okposo and either krebs or jost

this is when you want a skilled player called up and inserted in the top 9

- homiedclown

Exactly. Perfect opportunity to give Kulich or Rosen a real look.

Sabres prospect Noah Ostlund (1st round, 2022) is back from a concussion and says he's ready to play for Sweden at the IIHF World Junior Championship.

Another shrimp that gets tossed around to add to the collective.

I still think we need 2 real centers, but prob not realistic
We need to move some more of the smaller players and prospects.

Purely based on size and the fact that Benson is the real deal, I’d move Rosen if the return is there.
Where do Kulich and Rosen fit?
The logical roster subtractions are Jost, Girgensons, E Johnson, Clifton, Bryson.
Olofsson has been playing pretty good, but we know he has to go.
Depth on bottom 6 is going to be the issue IMO

Tuch/Tage/Skinner
JJ/Cozens/Benson
Quinn/new/Mitts
Robinson/Krebs/Greenway
New depth Larry’s? Big Mur maybe?

Cozens/New
Power/Joker
R Johnson/New
7th man

Here you go guys, this was put together over the off-season for your Holiday Delights. Pegula made it top priority instead of your Hockey Team. Adams was busy having Conversations with the decorators.

Two things. What happened to DJ Milk? Thought he had a lifelong contract? Also, there are Tage Thompson action figures?

Karmanos is the only one with any Organizational experience and he's in Rochester. From Top down they have inexperienced people running there Organization. From GM to Assistant Coaches. They don't seem to have the ability to figure out how to find Consistency and Compete with there Roster and they really need to figure that out. Plus the roster is not built right, they don't have the needed pieces in the pipeline to finish the puzzle. Nice to have all this talent, but they are all built the same player mode basically. The biggest needed piece is gonna be the hardest to get, we need are Wilson or Tkachuk.
- Buff36

This is all extremely valid… but I do disagree with the biggest need.

The biggest need is a President like Dudley or Gillis to drive culture and vision from the top down.

Seeing as the owner will not allow someone that actually knows the game to build his team successfully, the biggest need is a new owner.

All we can do is enjoy the mediocrity from the front office and coaches. And enjoy the flashes of what this team can do despite the coaching and front office.

This article is perfect:

“I feel like I’m a nice person but I want to win, and I want to win really bad and I want to win as much as you can possibly want that. So, will I make tough decisions? Of course. That’s what we have to do.”

“We’re continuing to look at both and see what makes sense for us to help our team get better,” Adams said. “But like I said last week, we also aren’t going to do something desperation or think that we have to do something. It’s only going to be done if it’s right.”

No, the problem was and remains above the GM. Everyone under this ownership is a yes man in a position they are not qualified for.

Getting 2 years of your 10 year plan that got you hired because at year 3 you wouldn’t make a knee-jerk reaction?

You guys are finally starting to get it.

Blysma was only a few points away from the playoffs and that was 7 years ago.

Here we are 7 years later in the same spot.

When teams are struggling the number one thing I hear from commentators, coaches and players is to simplify the game. Always always always thats what said, we need to simplify our game.

So, Its frustrating to watch because we are better than what is happening on the ice and when you see a clip like this it makes me think what is Granato doing to simplify things? It looks like the sabres are way overcomplicating their game. What becomes extremely frustrating is the poop we are fed from management and coaches yet no changes on the ice/ Do they not see it? Do they see it but don't care? Do they refuse to make changes? Are the players not listening? Granato shouldn't allow this to continue but he is.

This is on everyone, the coaches, players and management but for me, the first change that should be made to produce a better product on the ice is either fire the coaches or fire the assistant coaches or both.

Mark Stone on Krebs:

“I’m sure he’s looking for more of an opportunity,” Stone told The Buffalo News following the Golden Knights’ practice Thursday at City National Arena. “He’s kind of been placed in the fourth line there the past two years when he’s used to being a prolific scorer in juniors and an offensive guy. He’s one of the smarter players I’ve ever been around. I think he eventually gets his opportunity. I hope he does.

“I think he’s [capable of] more than just playing on the fourth line, killing penalties. Sees the ice really well and has offensive talent. Really composed with the puck. For me, at least, I hope they can get him in more of an offensive position because he’s a pretty damn good player.”

More and more and more and more the entire league is questioning the piss poor asset management by Adams and the Sabres.

Wonder what Murray’s B.A.C level was in that picture. Pretty sure he had already finished off a fifth of Jameson’s

Well said, a coaching change would help.

The organization is fragile from the top down, it's a house of cards that the first gust of wind blows over. They have no ability to dig themselves out of a hole, and they built the team from a position of weakness, no one is going to throw Adams or anyone a lifeline.

we are more than a few points away now

the bigger picture is we are not remotely close to competing for a cup, which is the goal not sneaking into the 8th seed
