Fwiw, I do think the Rosen pick would've been a decent one to trade. I'm kind of in the middle of where you two are, I don't hate the pick now that it's made, I just would'n't have made it if we could've gotten a developed player.

Good post

Might be a tad bit early to judge Rosen , assuming he’s gonna continue progressing in Rochester

Yeah, I think ThatGuy hit the nail on the head, he picked up 15lbs of muscle and made it to RCH and is now dominating. He needs another 15 to make it to the NHL to do the same.

You know how hard it is to put on 15 pounds of muscle? Unless they're feeding that kid tren, dianabol, and test - it's unlikely he puts on 15 pounds (especially if he's already put on 15 pounds of pure muscle since getting drafted).

They had just traded 3 of their top players. They weren't trading the pick.

Maybe if the Breakouts of Tage, Tuch, etc. came a year earlier. But they needed to draft at the time a Center or goalie in that 14th spot.

ATW calling out Ellis as the PP coach, and Rivet (and Peters agrees) saying the Sabres will never win anything with Skinner in the lineup.

If Rosen makes the team eventually, he will most likely be a winger.

The #LGRW have been engaged in trade talks lately, per source. Jonatan Berggren, who was scratched in today's Grand Rapids game (that is still ongoing), is one of the players believed to be in recent discussions.

a PPG player in A, will be a good comp to see the value of these players.

Doesn't have to be pure muscle. I went from 160 to 195 in about 2 years. Basic supplements(Protein Powder), no trainer, no billion$ franchise behind me.

It can be done pretty easily. Stay consistent, and eat eat eat... and then eat some more

1987 In Basic I put on 40 pounds of muscle in just over 8 weeks...I went in at 155 and ended up 195. 3 squares a day and busting your butt nonstop every day (and no smoking) is all it took. Never stepped foot in a gym.

I think Rosen will be a very good player in the NHL, just not on a fast track to the big league. The team knew that when they drafted him. As much as the Sabers pooched this year so far, the future indeed looks bright.

Yes, but work out to. He wants some Muscle. Not like someone who was trying not to get picked on in the HS Lunch Line and has a Michelin for a Belly.

Must of been sneaking in a lot of those Caramels. I don't know cause when I went through basic with everything going on it was impossible to keep weight on. Maybe LL's boys hadn't fallen yet so he was still growing but we were always doing something, burning energy.

It is a lot, but he has already done it once. He was listed at 160, moved to 174. Maybe 185 is his final weight in the NHL, but he does need to keep filling out. He is still very lean as well, they may end up proposing a slight increase to his BMI to help.

At the time, I get it, this is purely retrospective. We should've grabbed Wallstedt if we were drafting, given the need, but I still don't think Isak was a bad player to choose there either. We'll see what he looks like next year after he's finished bulking up.

The thing with muscle is it becomes exponentially more difficult to add as you are adding it. If we are just talking adding weight it's a bit easier but I thought your original post referenced muscle so that's where my head went.

It's also tough because these guys are not able to hit the weights as frequently during the season - so it's not really an all year endeavor but more of an off season thing. Plus burning high calories during season in games / practice / travel.

If we're just talking body mass, I don't think 10-15 is unreasonable before next years opening night. That much muscle would potentially take more than 3-5 years though *assuming he put on 15 pounds of pure muscle already*
