Good blog, thanks NYN!!

Those black/yellow sweaters are cursed, I know they won but they need to ditch those things sooner than later. They don't seem to play well with those things. Disregard the green here, this logo with it's prominent "C" should be their full time logo.

Better get value now, cause it's gonna be negative in a big way in the last couple of years.
- NorthNuck

Maybe maybe not.

In those later years what % of the cap will that be? 6-8%

The Fan Blog : Canucks and DeSmith Shutout the Wild
- the_fan_blog

Thank you New Yorkie, it’s great to have regular blogs again.

Now why was this game considered boring, 1st period DeSmith was outstanding, edge of your seat goaltending. Canucks had lead legs and the Wild came at them hard and often, guess that’s boring if you don’t like watching great goaltending.
2nd the Canucks woke up and turned the tables, great goaltending by the Wild and shots evened out… somewhat.
3rd Canucks shut down the Wild with good defensive structure and also had 3 breakaways in the game.
So I guess because it was 2-0 it gets labeled as boring, maybe Bettman should implement a new rule that any team winning and shutting down their opponents by 2-0 has to pull their goalie to make it more exciting for fickle fans.
Give me more 2-0, 2-1, 1-0 wins, but maybe show up to play before the end of the 1st.

Gotta be able to win low scoring games. Grinding out wins is a beginning to winning against top teams down the roads. Consistency & special teams still a big focus.

Thanks Yorky. You forgot to mention that with his 11th assist last night Tyler Myers cracked the top 100 assist leaders in the league. He now has more assists than Bedard, Matthews and Ovechkin.

Good question. Nothing in their play says they’ve got it back on the tracks. Can turn on a dime if the top 6 get it going or at least on the PP.

Good mention, good thing that Myers is on the team and relied on by Tocchet and the real coaches and real fans of this team.

I liked Hoglander. I watched the game with a couple of buddies and called him to score the first goal before the game.

Should have bet.

Hoglander is starting to show his skills. I have liked a lot of things about his game. I thought he was going to be strictly a playmaker, but I love the poop disturbing he brings.

It's nice the team has a younger replacement for Garland, time to ship him away

Doesn’t fully describe his value. The 4.95m will hang over his head.

As long as he plays less in the defensive zone, im a happy camper. Assist away, but dont play him against good players cause he'll get dominated (which is a fact at this point). I thought hogs looked impressive again, what a turnaround he is making!

Tunnel vision. Some people jut see things the way they want and can't be told otherwise. Not worth debating.
