If that's true I'm good with that. I didn't know that i don't even put the volume on the Blackhawks game anymore. I got my family room set up a bit like a sports bar, my wife loves it, i have 2 big screen tvs on at the same time. I was also rooting for the patriots last night since I'm a big Bears fan as well. It was a good night last night.

Napoleon was also nick-named "Le Petit Caporal" (the little corporal). LPC would save a few keystrokes over Little Nappi.

Agree that D1ckinson and Mrazek are LPC's only trade chips. Maybe he'll keep them for the reasons outlined above and if he believes he has enough future draft picks. BTW, I already traded D1ckinson to Vegas at the TDL for a RD which I think is a position of need. See post above.

I wouldn't mind that trade because it helps the team fill a need now and in the future, rather than hope another 3rd round draft choice could possibly become an NHL player years down the road.

I think if he gets a quality offer for Mrazek he pulls the trigger. I think D1ckinson is going to get a 4-5 year contract from KD, unless the offer is too good to pass up.

Being out of the Chicago market, I mostly have the choice of listening to the Hawks or the other teams broadcasts. Lately, I always opt for the opposing teams, I actually learn more about the Hawks from the research done by the oppo.s announcers than Voisters, and Pang.

For instance the Ducks said Luke told them they want Bedard to move his feet more, and KK to move his feet less (be more "quiet"). Never have gotten that from the Blackhawks broadcast team.

In the Detroit game, Mickey Redmond was head over heels about Bedard, and korchinski, and explained little nuances as to why. Again never got that info. from the Hawks broadcasters, besides learning about the team the Hawks are playing.

Speaking of D1ckinson... Good stuff here regarding him, Mrazek & Crevier. Maybe I'll take back that Vegas trade.

If Vegas is looking for some forward depth at the TDL and they want D!ckinson, I would entertain a trade of him for their young RD Kaedan Korczak, 6-3, 190lbs. He looked good in the couple of games I've seen him play. Maybe he'll be expendable once Theodore and Martinez come offf LTIR/IR.

I'd prefer for the Hawks to re-sign JD, I think he brings a lot to the team and would provide tremendous value for the next 2-3 years.

However, if some team offers KD a Hagel-type return for JD (which is unlikely) then he should jump all over that.

I know when i asked about Crevier i heard AHL lifer and so on, there's no denying big guys who play defense and have decent feet can be a real pain in the ass to play against.
- BetweenTheDots

I love when they are out there and Blackhawks.

I envision a big redwood defense that is mobile.

We just need two more Vlasics

with Crevier playing well, and the season seemingly in tank mode (btw, SJS playing much better lately), any reconsideration of letting KK go to world jrs?

I'm assuming its too late, but if you had to do it over again, would you let him go?

- vabeachbear

I am not sure it is.

A lot depends upon if he truly wants to go.

I am sure the team Canada Jr. would make room.

I'll trade Mrazek while he's not hurt and keep Dicckinson. Sign a veteran goalie next year.

i don't see the benefit. He already has his medal. I don't think KK (hopefully) dominating at the WJC at this point does anything for his learning curve.

If the Hawks are not going to send Bedard to the WJC (which we all know they are not), they shouldn't send KK either.

I don't see any that will be available that aren't sieves. Top 3 UFA's are Mrazek, Samsonov, Talbot

Neither has ever been a # 1 (even this year). Think they could handle the pressure of being a #1 on a team that will still probably be bottom 5-7 next year?

That's definitely a plus, i was thinking of doing the radio telecast while watching the game, haven't gotten around to it.

Agree 100%, sign D!ckinson to a three year contract and bye bye Mrazek. I also agree with some of the others that KD needs to take back some prospects in any trades, either forward(s) or RD’s.

I brought up taking Campbell from Edmonton in the last week or two, and I’m still in with the right return of course. This team will not have to worry about the cap for at the minimum three years. Mrazek for Campbell, Holloway, and a first, the Hawks can add if need be.

Well if they are going to be a bottom 7 next year, the quality of the goaltender won't make much difference. This year they are on pace for Soderblom and Mrazek to play 41 games a piece. Soderblom and Mr. X can again split the games next year. Besides even though Mrazek has been injury free this year, sooner or later, this season or next, he'll probably miss time due to injury.

With all of the injuries around the league to goaltenders and defenceman after only 25 games, I think KD sits tight and watches what the market will pay in trade. Some teams are going to get desperate - Carolina is playing poorly; the Leafs need a goalie now; Oilers don't really want Campbell back; the Kings are too good, doubt they will stay with just Talbot and Copley; NJ goaltending is mediocre

Some team will spend big before trade deadline.

Been hearing that for how many trade deadlines now? In the past 7 years, only 2 goalies have brought back a #1 (both offseason trades), Keumper in 2021 and Anderson in 2016.

How much do you think you are going to get for (as you say) an oft injured goalie whho is a pending UFA?

I didn't mention anything about a #1 draft pick or name a Chicago player, Looks like you assumed that. I said KD will sit tight and gauge the market for prices being paid or offered.

I think he would be far better to skim off some near ready NHL talent playing in the minors that belong to good teams who have no room or need on their NHL roster. For example, if the Devils or Kings have a couple of good kids playing down on the farm and they could be had for Mrazek or Richardinson, he likely does the deal.

But I do believe some team is going to get desperate and pay more than they should.

You are right, I assumed draft choices, but I agree if you can peel off a Turcotte, a Robertson, et. al I am all for it.

Couple things jhawk. Most of these young guys are LD. Unless some of them prove to be capable playing their off side, there will be a logjam.

Not to mention, KD will need to fill out the rest of the roster and will likely use the glut of quality D prospects to do so. I would expect at least two of these kids to be dealt.

- Chunk

Think it was Totem, may have been you Chunk, who wisely posted a few days ago prospect logjams at any position are always worked out by the prospects themselves. Indeed......

I've posted this a few times over the yrs and it's something that's always stuck with me. My Guy Earl Weaver was asked why isn't Joe Shmo playing left every day, he's hitting .280 and Lowenstien is hitting .250.

Earl said play a 5th infielder or 4th outfielder every day for 2 weeks and he'll show you why he's not a starter!! Indeed, the players will tell you everything you need to know if you listen.

Trick is, as many have posted, to know before other franchises who is that 5th infielder is and trade him for a return of what a starter is before the league learns he's not.
