Wouldn’t mind Harkins getting the same looks as Nylander. |

I'm starting to believe this team is just too old. Some of them are still good, but collectively, it won't work. Pens don't have the legs most nights. This team gets beaten to the puck in the majority of games. |

Thing is we’ve seen glimpses of them owing the puck. They’re not fast but they can compete.
The lack of desire seems more evident than age right now to me.

To me it's more so slop, the passing isn't crisp. Boneheaded decisions. No cohesiveness. |

I’m sure they do but are they willing to give it their all to do it? |

I'm not well versed in coaching contracts... I do know if you axe a coach and there's term left on contract they still get paid... But what about if they take another job right away, or soon after? Is the former team still on the hook for their pay/contract? |

I think so...and maybe their all isn't enough but It's a long season yet. Lots of ups and downs. Lots of things can change, including personnel or staff..or even just a team starting to click again... |

Come on…that was apparent as day 1. Did Dubas sign anyone under 30?
There was no way a 37 and 36 yr old centers could carry this team for 82. |

Believe if the dismissed coach is re-hired (during his contract term length) the team than canned the coach is no longer on the hook for remaining salary. |

It has to be perfect, no sense in rushing pucks to the net. |

That's what "old" looks like though. I hope I'm wrong. At the very least, the Pens need to get back to what they did on that west coast trip. |

Geno and Sid sure, 65 and 58 too? Nooo sir, that’s the pp.
Second shift of that lineup leads to a breakaway against. |

You could be right. Sid is having one of his best seasons despite next to no PP production. Geno has looked shot since he got sick. Like it was immediately after that haha but he was awesome before that. Tanger and EK making a lot of boneheaded decisions. Rust is off to best start in a few seasons.
I think it was Tojo that said the lineup is like a house of cards. Soon as one or two players are missing it all comes down. Rak, Acciari and Nieto out.... That shouldn't make the ship sink but there's next to no organizational depth to cover. |

Harkins need to be the guy getting boosted in the lineup. The offense looks natural to him. He also doesn’t seem scared of the puck like DOC does. |

Regardless the exact issues, they'd benefit greatly by tightening things up. Yeah... the Geno thing is strange. He looked 10 years younger at the start of the season. Those top 2 lines were killing it. We're a one line team now.

EK has a great one timer and they seem to be intentionally trying to avoid him use that on the PP. |

Maybe because he's older, and went so hard to start the first month and a half of the season, he cooked himself 🤷. Maybe he has lingering illness and/or injuries... |

Wow I'm going to agree with Grinder. I've seen nothing from Nylander at all, but he keeps getting put in positions to succeed.
Harkins is about the only depth guy that shows a pulse right now. I'll even go with pushing him up and DOC down. I've been a big advocate of giving DOC his chance, but he's not doing anything with it.
Just put the DOC-Eller-Zohorna line back together and see if you can get that rolling. None of them are the key to helping Malkin, but maybe they can help each other again. |

Like you said in another post, that's getting old. You can still look like your old self for a run of games, but you can't do that over 82. Unless you're Crosby I guess. |

That's a big difference. A few years ago, we'd regularly overcome missing Sid or Geno for an extended period of time. Now we can't overcome missing our #6 forward. There's no Bonino, McCann, or ERod on this team ready to step up. |

Yup... And adding to this Rust is being evaluated for an upper body injury. He's on my team in fantasy and Yahoo just put him as DTD... |
