The Penguin way.

How can it not be coaching? They all do it!
Tampa funnels everything to the middle and the pens do the opposite

how long does it take for eyes that get paid to make these decisions to realize that letang and karlsson cannot work together on the powerplay. I know theres a lot of blame to go around but its even worse now somehow.

I hope we have scouts at our own game just so we can learn what a Power play looks like.

They just don't have answers now. Somehow we added the league's best PP QB and he made us worse.

Now the PK, which has been a bright spot for most of the season, is starting to fail .... Seems they've been letting more in lately....

I’d say they miss nieto and acciari.

i agree. by and large the PK has been fine, even if scuffling a little bit. its everything else.

i dont think malkin has been consistently noticeable in a positive way in going on two plus weeks, and I'm a big malkin guy.

then the depth is obviously just not there.

Nah, that was a good PP by our standards. We didn't give up a single shorthanded breakaway on that one.

I'm positive Sully is saying the right things, but how does he hold anybody to account when they refuse? The biggest offenders are the guys you can't bench.

I think the Pens would benefit from a different voice and perspective, but I'm not sure it would be enough.

If I was coach there would be bag skates, but instead of skating it would be non stop shooting the puck at the net. Rushes, pp, cycle. Some people would pass non stop so they learn to complete a pass, and defencemen would just take rush after rush working on gaps. Over and over and over.

Yeah. This team was always an injury or 2 away from awful. Add a total lack of confidence in their game and it’s what we got here.

I hope Tampa and Florida blow them right out of the rink so something has to change before it’s too late.

thats the thing though. i fully expected this to be a .500 ish team that had the potential to be a little better if things clicked or simply fall apart of crosby or malkin got hurt. i was fine with that and just having it at least be somewhat compelling.

for all of the oh at least theyll be fun to watch, this is so much worse than last year.

if i would have told you in the offseason that at this point crosby would have 15 even strength goals or whatever it is and the team would collectively be the league leader in shutouts and that malkin wouldnt have missed a game yet, what would you have pegged the record at to date?

theyre just to a man, sad and uninspired or simply not good enough.

Yeah at this point I’m where I was with Rutherford with Sully. Great Penguin, but his shelf life is expired and has to be shown the door.
- Victoro311

Yup. Sully had his “15mins” being in the right place at the right time. We all give him thx for B2B cups but its blatantly apparent his dogma has run its course with the current group. They’re dangling around wild card position & bleeding pts concurrently; dubas is in tough situation. How long do you continue to let Sully steer the ship, possibly bleed more pts, before firing him? I’d poop can him during the next tv timeout.

Dubas has to decide if this group can be a real contender/ achieve great things (with a new bench boss) or continue to sit back & hope things will right themselves,,, game after game after game………….until out of PO picture/ season over.

Putting Nylander on the top PP is hopefully the actual jump the shark moment.
