Got the frame together for the yard rink today. Came just under the 20' x 40' pad size. Got to line it, stake it and level it next. Probably add a strip of plywood to round the corners.

Suspect there will be a mini scale version of a zamboni before this is over.

The gf built a mini Zamboni using a wheeled cooler.

Not great just yet. Even next week is showing plus numbers. Probably be around Christmas before the weather stabilizes. We had the pad down a year ago but last winter was a lost cause.

This should be fun though. Both grandsons are over the moon on this.

Winters tend not to get too cold down east. How the climate has changed. I recall when the wife and I were first married we had snowmobiles and Nov., Dec. were the two best months for that sport.

Not asking for tons of snow like that though.

I've been skating on city rinks where they can keep them open above zero, but if it's too far above zero I go fishing, around zero or lower I go skating. Great time of year.
