Excerpt from Powers article re Reichel:
I think when he plays with confidence, he seems to have excellent bursts of speed, which we know that he has, and it’s always used in the right direction,” Richardson said. “Now I think he’s thinking a little bit instead of reacting and chasing the game and we don’t see him very much in the game. He needs to kind of watch from above tonight and then come back with a little bit of fire, but also regrouping mentally, so physically he could do his best out there.”
Blackhawks management didn’t consider sending him to Rockford again. They think of him as a full-time NHL player and don’t think another stint in the AHL would be beneficial.
The Blackhawks also aren’t in panic mode yet about Reichel’s development. They have seen what he can do in the AHL and NHL. If Reichel doesn’t rediscover his game at some point this season, then they will have to be concerned about it. But they’re hoping Sunday’s healthy scratch will refocus him. |

Per the MN broadcast thru 22 games CHI has won the expected goals 5 times. ..... Tuned in a minute late. Did they dress 7 Dmen? Thought I saw Zaitzev out there as well as Crevier. - Mr Ricochet
Listening to the Mn. Broadcasters too, but they are pumping Rossi as being as good as Bedard.
Rossi looks good between Kaprizov and Zuccarello, but didn’t Hartman score 30 goals centering those 2 also?

Remember how rough it was for Rossi his first yrs? Stunk in the bigs, back to the AHL, up, back and up and here he is centering L2 and has 8 goals!!......... ... No matter who he's skating with right now he's passing the eye test but yea, having NHL linemates helps.

Goal 2 was the PP goal and they were both around the net. First one was the tip by Rossi (who was uncovered). That was Tinordi who went with the forward to cover the MN player moving up the boards. |

He's very very good and with Granato it's as good as a Hawk's fan could hope for. Murray is solid too between periods. ..... He was on Bedard a couple back about floating, not backchecking. I appreciate that from a legit NHLer.

He is a 7th defenseman on any team. He is the least of their problems. |

It’s a good thing LR say Reichel; we can already see the improvement in the team’s play. |

He’s an All-Star Game MVP, and can see and do things that others can’t. |

Understood, but would rather see Kaiser or Phillips playing, and sorry, Tinordi is not even a 7th defenseman on a bad team, let alone a good team. Also, yes last year was about tanking, this year is about developing and analyzing, next year they add some scoring. |

Jones did a real nice job or clearing the crease on that one. If we’re gonna be toast I’d just let all the kids play and get experience—- KD has to find someway to get him out of here |

From previous blog...
Agree with you there LA. Prior to the start of the season, I had Hall penciled in for 25 goals, and maybe 15 for AA and 20 for Reichel. I also had Raddysh for about 20 goals like last year, but he has disappointed this year. So that's about 80 goals worth of production lost to injury and regression. I had Perry down for about 12-15 goals, so maybe Beauvillier will make up for that.
I figured with that goal scoring the team would get about 70 points this season putting them in the 5-7 spot in the lottery. Now it definitely looks like bottom 3 in the standings and hopefully not a further drop after the lotto balls bounce around.
Like you said, definitely not the plan KD envisoned, but it may be a blessing in disguise if the team can pick up Celebrini or Eiserman. - boilermaker100
If KFC is unsure when to pull the trigger on starting to target real players the time is coming quickly. You can't keep waiting for draft choices that may never materialize.

That’s my biggest issue. You need to have some semblance of a team to start building around. |

For sure KFC needs to add quality players and can't depend on all those picks panning out. But a Celebrini or Eiserman won't hurt. I've been beating the drum for Laine, but NOOO, he's a bad influence. I think it's time to add this off season. Can't go into next season with basically the same roster unless the plan is to get another top 5 pick in the 2025 draft. |
