Still not sure how that wasn’t an embellishment penalty. I guess they can’t call it after review. But that’s a reputation kind of thing now when you do that. Players will mock him all game long too

The more I watched it, I don't think he was "trying" to hit himself in the face. It looked like he grabbed it and tried to kind of swing it behind him. It was funny as hell though

To be fair I didn't even know you could reverse a penalty entirely. I know you can lessen it from a 5/4 to something less, but I thought that was it lol

Could you imagine the RW blog if they called a double minor reversal on the play- one for Embellishment and one for holding the stick-

Honestly, even after watching it happen, I don't think they can!! I figured that's why Lalonde was so bent out of shape over it. Pretty sure the refs can't look up and the Jumbotron and say, "Hey! We better take another look at that!"

Yes, they can review to decide whether to uphold, or downgrade. I don't think they can upgrade. We even saw them wipe one off the board entirely a while back. But, it was reported last night that they didn't review until after the crowd went nuts upon seeing a replay.
