Word is both Kaapo Kakko and Filip Chytil are going on LTIR, per source.
Kakko’s injury is not believed to be season ending, but he will miss a significant amount of time. It could be been worse.

Would be retroactive back to whenever he was put on IR. No idea. But this puts us in a weird spot where we can only really rely on callups and not trades |

Sounds like Adam Fox is expected to be available for #NYR tomorrow and coming off LTIR.
Filip Chytil and Kaapo Kakko are both going on LTIR. Kakko will miss significant time but isn't believed to be season ending.
Chytil move to LTIR is for cap reasons - retroactive to Nov. 3. |

He’s able to come off ltir whenever since it’s been 10 games and 24 days.
Kakko is tough. Long term but not for the season limits our options |

I bet ya he sprained all the knee ligaments. Maybe they can pump his knee up with super steroids and make him faster |

It could also be a break in the leg and not ligaments. Or It could be all of those things lol. I’m stunned it’s not season ending. That looked awful. I haven’t once watched the replay. I don’t like seeing that sorta thing

100% this is the move. If he's out for any longer than end of January I'd say just tell him he's not coming back before game 1 of the first round. He isn't worth the salary cap flexibility at the TDL. Yes, he's good defensively on the 3rd line, but that's replaceable on our current roster. We need to make a move for more 5on5 offensive play-driving come the TDL if we want to win it all this June. |

The first time I watched the replay of Kakko's injury, I thought it was a blown out knee. The second time, I thought he dislocated his ankle and blew out his knee. There was no third viewing. Any way that he could come back and play later this season would be an unexpected bonus.... |

If Kessel is in shape, and will accept a cap friendly deal, they should bring him in. He’s a vet, and has the ability to find the net.
Neither Kakko or Chytil will produce enough 5v5 on the right side if and when they return. |

Chytil has 144 career points. Only 17 of them have been power play points. He only produces at 5 on 5. |

Ok. But he’s an injury risk every time he steps on the ice, and I don’t believe he’s played right wing in his short career. As we’ve seen it’s not that easy making the that position change. |

I think that is more from one side to the other. Moving from Center to the wing is like getting paroled from prison!! The biggest worry is that he might embrace the lack of responsibility too much!!

I think Quinn only had him on the right at first and it was Fil that said he wanted to be a center
Edit: could have been AV |

I think with Fil, moving him away from center might lessen his head injury probability…center he’s in the open ice more |

I’m almost positive he played with Kreider and Zib for a brief stretch a few seasons ago |
