if they send Campbell and his 5M to Laval, Habs save about 1M in capspace. BUT by trading Allen they also save 3.8M.
so the cost to have Campbell in Laval as a plan B in case of an injury to Monty/Primeau is really 1.2M per. not that expensive to give icetime to both our young goalies. 2 years from now (when Allen deal is over) they can buy out Campbell or trade him retaining.

Campbell is even struggling in the AHL. this idea of taking on such a horrible contract is completely ridiculous, but I guess it's on par with HB trade rumors.

well, you get Bourgeault (a former 1st I think), plus a first round pick, the opportunity to play our kids (Monty and Primeau) and not let them sit forever, and a vet backup in Laval (even if he is struggling) so you do not have to call back Dobes in case of an injury.
all that have a price. 1.2M is not much imo

the only way I would see the habs taking Campbell is if he were on LTIR, otherwise this makes no sense whatsoever. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the Rocket, (frank) that poop.

Check the rest. It's kind of insane. All they needed was to hit on like 2 guys.
