If I may chime in, and I don’t often.

In regards to the Fluery issue.

He was told and warned not to do that.

As stupid as the rules may be, they’re rules

If the nhl has any credibility on enforcing those rules, they’ll throw the book at him..

well is that your subtle way of saying you agree with the league and you think players shouldn't be allowed to wear anything that has any meaning outside of hockey?

Or back down, like they did with the pride tape.

This is all about right wing backlash and the NHL trying to stay out of the crosshairs by adopting a policy that hurts all causes, pissing off everyone, which is worse than what would have happened if they left it as it was before the ban.

NHL PR and Policy are the equivalent of Chris Nilan on Jeopardy - zero chance they get the question right.

The NHL is so (frank)ing vanilla at times, really need to change the culture at head office.

couldn't agree more on that.

I get why the league would want players to stay away from certain circumstances, such as currently ongoing conflicts (Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Palestine...) but if it isn't harmful in any way I don't see why they shouldn't be able to do whatever the (frank) they want, especially if it's just for the frickin' warmup period.

Not at all Pat.

I don’t give a (frank) if they wear a dress.

But the article states he was warned..

noice loll

well in that case wouldn't you prefer that the NHL adopts a more open-minded approach, instead of imposing rules that you don't really think should be there in the first place..?

just the fact that whatever they're wearing during warmups can be sold through auction with the profits going straight to a specific cause makes that all worthwhile, imho.

the NHL will make more publicity against itself than anything if they go through with giving a fine to Fleury, and an even bigger one to the team. it's just too silly.

There's no way they come out of this looking good.

Oh well...This is the hill they decided to die on.

Remember, this all started because they didn't want the Staal brothers and a handful of dumb Russians to get their feelings hurt.

They need new people at the helm of this league...like yesterday. It's been all ass backwards lately.

lately..? sadly it's been going on for a while... and now they're looking into having a 4-team "world cup", jfc

Bettman may have been very good at representing the owners' interests but I never understood why it was always him that also does all the PR for the league, he's doing a horrible (frank)ing job being a spokesperson and reaching out to all hockey fans.

being booed during most NHL events you attend shouldn't be something you consider acceptable or normal when you're trying to build and maintain a brand, wtf.
