Much rather Frankie V. on the bromance line over Kakko, and Wheeler can be moved back to the 3rd line where he belongs.

I like players who are effective, I guess you have forgot how well Vatrano played while with the Rangers. He used that success to make a little more money. After all, that’s what it all about for players.

I’m sure the Ducks would take a flyer on Kakko, and he can hang out on the beach where he seems to be happy.

Ducks are good idk that they’d trade him now. He is well underpaid tho I’ll tell you that. He’s got 135 career goals in 500 games, that’s not to shabby considering how little playing/ice time he’s gotten throughout his career

He’s on pace for 54 goals this year, that’s nuts. Unsustainable for the season I’d think, but the man can shoot the puck

What an amazing improvement for Laffy. Looks like a different player. Confidence and playing with a totally energized Panarin, can work wonders. I hope he keeps it up.

BTW, speaking about a line that has had zero consistency with linemates...

How many RW's have been tried since Buch got traded?

Kane, Kakko, Tarasenko, Blais, Vatrano, Hunt, Kravtsov, Goodrow, Gauthier, Panarin...

Without a doubt. Love to see Drury get out in front of it, and not take this good start to the season as a reason to wait.

They were good. the rangers couldn't afford to keep them because there 4th line center makes almost 4 million dollars.

Edit: Would gladly take back Hunt or Gauthier for the 4th line right now.

I know it’s a nuclear bomb that goes off here, but Kane is simply the easiest thing to do right now. Not assets leaving, cheap contact if he’s willing. BUT I don’t run the rangers, which I think people think I do

He deserves the next shot on the first line. Unless it’s Kakko getting another opportunity

It’s an option, but I certainly wasn’t hoping to bring it up.

I know. We have tip toe around it 😬

All I’ll say is I wouldn’t mind a healthy Kane on MSG ice. We just happen to need a RW desperately too

Ever since Larry Brooks's report the chatter has pretty much completely died re: tying us to Kaner. Don't hear any insiders even mention us as an option anymore, which it seemed they were all obligated to do before the report. Don't think it's happening.

I don’t either. But was that before Chytil went down wasn’t it? Because maybe since then if they do in fact LTIR him that gives them extra money to use for him. So I’ll paint this scenario lol maybe they told him to hold off a bit signing somewhere until they figure out what they’ll do with Fil. It’s obvious NYR are his first choice I think. He wants to be here and always has. And it’s been “imminent” for like two weeks that’s he’s signing and he hasn’t yet.

There is no other easier path to getting help up front then them doing this, I’d think we all agree on that. Whether you want him or not is irrelevant lol it’s just signing a piece of paper or two

Chytil went down prior to Brooks ruling the Rangers out on Kane. It was right around the time word started to come out that Chytil may be out long term.

Fair enough that until he signs elsewhere, there will always be the connection. I highly doubt it happens.

That link if read it has Emily Kaplan not completely squashing it. Who knows. The rangers will need to do something regardless, and a fairly large something to boot

No, I haven't. just pointing part of the reason why he was not re-signed, term and years. They didn't have cap space and weren't about to move on from Kakko or Laf at the time.

I like effective players too, so not sure where that part of the comments come from.

This RW problem all started when Kravtsov didn’t work out. It’s why they let Buch go specifically. So anything after that has been a trickle down effect because of that. He was picked 9th overall to be a first line RW and they’ve been looking for one ever since then

You aren't kidding. Not just let him go, but for an immaterial return, partially because they were targeting Eichel. But that's a road we have hoed before, way too many times

Blais struggling didn’t help either. Tore his knee up and we know what happen after that. I feel like Blias couldve thrived under Lavy as opposed to GG

Fact is they still need one lol they are too close to the holy grail now to not address it, and now unfortunately need a 3C it looks like also

No Vesey doesnt a shot on the first line. He is at best a 3rd line player.

I didn’t say they should have signed when he became a free agent. I understood they didn’t have the room under the ridiculous salary cap.

My post only spoke to why I think it’s a great idea to bring him in now.

Considering the alternatives and what we’ve seen so far, sorry yes he 100% deserves a chance there. He’s basically leading the team in es goals aside from the Panarin line.

That’s a dumb statement Brukie, I love you dude but that’s not fair to Jimmy. He’s been great this year
