Willy has a succabus!!
His play is guaranteed to drop now. She gonna want his baby batter everyday. Gotta do the right thing and move him (and the succabus) before goes limp for hockey!

Marner got married and has been m'eh since then.
Trade Marner ASAP and use the freed up cap space to get a #1 D, a goalie and to re-sign Willy.

It's tough to figure. Using a suggestion from The Law - looking at only guys who have UFA contracts, and then comparing to guys who have had 35 goal+ or 90 point+ seasons over the past 4 years, you have a limited number of comparisons out there (using $87.5m as your cap ceiling):
Nathan MacKinnon has a cap% of 15.3% which projects to $13.39m
Auston Matthews has a cap% of 14.6% which projects to $12.78m
David Pastrnak has a cap% of 13.6% which projects to $11.9m
Johnny Gaudreau has a cap% of 11.8% which projects to $10.33m
Alex Ovechkin has a cap% of 11.66% which projects to $10.2m
Steven Stamkos has a cap% of 11.6% which projects to $10.15m
Mika Zibanejad has a cap% of 10.43% which projects to $9.13m
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has a cap% of 6.3% which projects to $5.51m
Let's face it - RNH is a good hockey player, but his numbers were grossly inflated by playing with McDavid and soaking up PP points on the best power play in NHL history (57th in 5v5 points last year, but 3rd in PP points). So his value per point is insane, but his value is not representative of his statistics.
Your lowest end comparison is Zibanejad. The realistic line is probably between Gaudreau and Pastrnak - so somewhere between $9.6m and $10.5m is probably where his next contract lands. - Monkeypunk
The other factor is what the free agent market ends up looking like. Three other potential FAs hitting the market (Pettersson, Reinhardt and Guentzel) could drive down prices if they all hit the market

All three of those players deserve more than Nylander.
Watch, they’ll all sign for 7ish per. Willy demands 13

Why does she look like she went to the Megan Fox school of plastic surgery?...oh, right.
Coach Jim Montgomery, echoed the team’s statement, saying Saturday, “we’re aware of the Looch situation and as an organization it’s something we take extremely seriously. Looch is taking a leave of absence from the team right now. We support the Lucic family and we will continue to provide support and help for the Lucic family.”

Looks like she's gained quite a bit of weight lately.
Not to mention if he signs with term what his cap hit will look like by the end of the contract. $10 mill for 8 years for instance wouldn’t even be 10% of the cap by the mid point of the contract let alone it’s end now that the cap is finally about to start rising again. Contract values are determined for the duration of the contract not just the current season. - Dozzer
