A cautionary tale against Tanking! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFADcfQHVpI - jd250
I'll say it again, only one team has won the Stanley Cup in the last 15 years without a #1 or #2 overall pick on the roster. One. And, that Blues team had a #3 and a #4 overall pick on the roster. Enjoy no man's land. |

And if you include Schenn, a #5 overall pick. |

Walker looks like he is playing his way into a contract extension so fsr this season - Bob Habib
He’s a solid player. Potentially a solid trade chip at the deadline |

He's better than I thought he would be. A better RH shot option than Ristolainen for the 3rd pair. That they didn't have to pay a boat load for and actually gained assets to take on. |

Foerster got 20 minutes of ice time and looked about as likely to score an NHL goal as that lady in the red shirt sitting behind Brindy.
That was a good win on the road, but it's bizarre to have Bobby Brink sitting in the stands while Deslauriers is basically unplayable and only gets 7 minutes, Foerster is gifted way too much ice time that he doesn't deserve, and now they're trying to make Poehling the 3C after giving up on Cates.
Poehling had 14:55 at ES, Cates had 7:25. - Feanor

Not convinced the Flyers will trade anyone at the deadline. Why should they? Tortorella is leading this ship and he is trying to win. Plus it wouldn’t be fair to the players.
This all sounds so familiar. |

The trade deadline will be the final indicator on what this team is doing. I’d they aren’t sellers, we might as well watch another team. |

Points wise the Flyers are currently in a playoff spot.

Give credit where it is due, Carter was fantastic and those 2 stellar 1st period saves were key. The Flyers were outplayed for most of the 2nd and third periods, but you can win games like that when you get clutch goaltending.
Now the not so good stuff:
Giving Brink one game off is fine, but he needed to play last night. It’s not like Foerster is doing anything special but the guy who should have sat last night was Nic D. Carolina certainly isnt a team that’s going to goon things up so there was zero need for the plug to be dressed last night.
And seriously, the powerplay? I mean it’s beyond ridiculous at this point. Do something! I would suggest replacing Rocky as pp coach, but hey, what do I know? I’ve only followed the team for over half a century!
My preseason fear was that this team would be just good enough to miss the playoffs by just a few points and that’s the worst place to be. |

If you have access to a game replay, she showed up behind Rod when he took his timeout in the final minute.

1 game verse 2 games for Brink is not a big deal. If it continues it’s then an issue. I don’t even know what to say about the powerplay, I do like that they’ve adjusted the entry approach a bit where more guys are coming up the ice together rather than their mile away slingshot |

Are we counting the teams who haven't won a cup despite having #1 or #2 overall picks in their lineup? There are far more of them over the last 15 years.

Only two games, but it will be eight days off for Brink if he even gets back in against Vegas. Does anyone think the lines from yesterday look better than this?

I see him being traded at the deadline for a high pick, and the Flyers resigning him in the offseason if the price is reasonable. He is a lot better than I thought ... but then again I don't watch LA games all that often. |

Seeler brings it every night. A solid 3rd pair Dman making 775K , plays physical , blocks shots and not too mention a + 10. Made a great play on TK goal - 3flyerkids
Agree and I can't stand Seeler because he is the poster child of the Flyers - lunch pail player, no skill (slight over statement) who would most likely be toiling in the AHL save for one team that traditionally avoids youth like te plague |

This is what I worry about. Them holding onto players because they once again think that they are closer to competing than they really are.
Walker is looking like a great trade chip, atm, but I can also see them signing him to an extension with how he has played. |
