no, not sure why I would, just thought Oilers would be better at the time.

Great time to trade Brock he might not even be a negative value asset now 😍
- CanuckDon

Could get that RHD they are talking about. Ryan Pulock, MacKenzie Weegar, Colton Parayko, Justin Faulk. Big upgrade for the D. Got rid of Horvat to get Hronek was good

"Right now"? Good summer trade. I think they need him in the top 6/pp this season.

StL was looking to give that guy away 10 cents on the dollar in the summer. I thought hell yes, but was shot down by many. It was even called a OEL trade 2.0.

I am not beating my chest, just laughing at the fact that it does not take long to go from zero to hero quickly, or fall off just as fast.

Exactly what we were just talking about wait 15 minutes and you will be right.

You and virtually all of the hockey 'experts' did but you can always count on Mini to tell you that you were wrong.

gold NYN, there is analytics in all walks of life, but defending a completely made up subjective process based on expectations(that do not track every possible function) is worthy of poking fun at.

I mean, sure, whatever. I think you might be a bit off base on your understanding/bias, or we're not necessarily talking about the same thing anymore...

Anywho, we can move on.

I still want to keep Garland. He draws a penalty a game or so it seems like and as you said the play is usually in the other end. He had a nice shot block last night. When Suter draws back in I think it is a decent line.
- VANTEL

It's just his contract for a few more years at 4.95 is a lot for the results he is getting. If you are talking a 5.5 player that has scored at .91 PPG vs a 4.95 player that has scored at .53 PPG over the past two years. It isn't as if either are counted on to do much else but to score and not suck defensively.

Hard to get rid of Beauvillier though because if someone in the top 6 does go down. Saw last season that he can produce with Petey and Kuzmenko. Where as at the start of this year Garland did not.

I'm going to let Allvin and Rutherford make this decision, it's too hard.

Weegar and Parayko have negative value. I’d like Zadorov or Tanev but the Canucks and Flames don’t make sense as trade partners

Depends what the price would be?

I don't see Flames doing much this year so if it was a good trade for futures then CGY should not care who the team is.

Sat Shah just said canucks are not willing to overpay for rentals so it is moot.

I get a chuckle out of him arguing with several posters calling him out, only seen one guy back his takes, well 3 if you include Northy and New Yorker.

The value would be nice and cheap for an upgrade then. I'd argue with the Canucks I think both would improve quite a bit over their respective teams. Like Hronek has done in Van vs Det.

Why would you want Zadorov? Canucks army article outlined some really good points as to why they should steer clear of Zadorov.

I wouldn’t pay anything. I’d want several 1st round picks included to take either player

Who said I "believe" in it?

I can understand and parse what analytics says, I can understand and parse what people write/blog/say from their observations. There's a difference between agreeing with and believing in (hell, you even agreed with his point projection the other day!)

I mean every single professional sports league, organization, and team use analytics more and more. If you're saying your singular viewpoint is the only way to look at something.. then have at it, I'm not gonna bring it up every couple pages

- NewYorkNuck

I can't imagine being so scared of numbers that you ridicule anyone who can understand them. Reminds me of religious types who used to burn books

I really like Zadorov. I think he can be a long term 2nd pairing solution when Cole moves on. It also helps he is the meanest player in the league . That being said, the price will be too high

fair enough, I was just poking fun at expected for and against, or high danger low danger. The way people poke fun at +/-, shots of goal, etc.

All good guys, I'll move on,

Thoughts on tonight, Canuck may be quite tired after that comeback?

I agree on Garland. He's fitting into his role nicely right now and getting praises from RT several post games in a row. Sticking him in the top 6 would make him useless all over again.

Oh, it was said in the article that he has been sheltered in pretty much his entire time in Calgary and that when he does move up for longer periods in their top 4 that his numbers greatly decline.

Sure, I don’t put much stock into anything that Canucks Army writes. Some folks think the Flames coaches are idiots with how they use him. Some don’t. In my personal viewings I like and value his skating and grit
