I think after watching Barry Trotz, it sunk in that coaches matter. Decades of rookie coaches, got the same failed results. I think Lou has done some good for this team. Where I think he failed was his inability to replace Tavares and his pts (Horvat is not that guy), leaving the isles still without a true first line. The PP is just a failure, anyway you slice it, yet they keep the same staff. I thought those “loyalty” days were over. Shoulda hired Rick Tocchet > Lame

Of course it’s not all bad he has actually done quite a bit of good. The problem is a lot of the bad he has done is of the long term variety that’s going to make fixing this team all the more difficult.

I think with the cap coaches are even more important. I think Barzal and Horvat are definitely 1st line talent. That said JT was a dam good player and made people around him better. We probably would have won a cup had he stayed. Just my opinion of course.
