Brilliant coaching?
Okposo complained about lack of minutes?
Needed to get another look at Bryson, might have missed something the last 67 times he sucked?

About every team in the East improved their rosters this off season, except the Sabres
- lulags

Adams bet on linear progression as the means for improvement, so far it's not working.

This team is significantly unbalanced, I don't see anyone in the system or on the roster with the intangibles needed either.

Kane will be helpful for the offense, but when Tuch and Cozens both get dummied early into a season of expectations, thats deflating for an already mentally fragile team. 0 response form the organization, except to have Cozens admit he needs to fight less tough players.

Yeah, Granato said there was more to it. It could have been as simple as late to a meeting

Signed about 11mill in bad 1yr contracts
And still has another 7mill in Cap with players that should be gone.
I would say there's probably 18mill in wasted Cap this year! Could have signed a few good players for that.

All great points. It’s a shame that we all saw this coming but the professionals in charge of the team could not, especially after most teams in the east solved for much of this in the off season

Maybe they should go and get Zadarov, definitely would bring some intangibles.

Will he though?

He is an aging player who’s played a lot of hockey and just had basically the same surgery as Backstrom who just left the league because of it.

The surgery is news to me, could impact his skating.

Those hands are still a lock for the hall of fame, and better than anyone's on the roster right now. I think he will take over the half wall and settle the play down on the powerplay.

Yes I almost threw up when I saw that the other night. I would much rather see a bunch of kids give a 100% then that whatever lineup they threw out the other day. Maybe they make some mistakes but atleast I might get some better effort and speed into my lineup. Maybe actually see some Heart and someone go to the net and get Dirty. To much PowderPuff Hockey out there.

I think it may come down to how many games he has left of eligibility to go to RCH without clearing waivers. He would certainly get picked up.

Our real problem is lack of accountability and poor preparedness on gameday.

Coaching is kind of an issue right now, imo.

And I am talking about the Sabres.

- Jet Jaguar BD

Sounds like a giant lack of leadership

Or the team isn't good enough

Or both

Maybe the coach is fed up with the GMs inadequacies. He had to pound the table for Greenway after all

why play short benched on the second of back to back nights when there is still wiggle room

seems like a move to make once tuch is ready to play again

He was at a 64pt pace, his lowest of his career, on one leg. If he's healthy, yes, I think he will score a lot of points for us. Whether he's a 70 pt or 90pt winger is probably the better question, not if he will impact the offense.

His issue is defense. And being a Richardwad of a human.

His physicality would be a nice addition, I don't think he'll want to come back to Buffalo, but wouldn't be a bad addition. The Sabres need an Ott/Kaleta style player. Fearless, nasty, and able to fight but the main reason is that style of player is the exact opposite of every player in the system now.

They need to watch how a desperate player fights for ice and gets into the dirty areas and bleeds, the entire team is 1st rounders who have spent their hockey lives living off their god given talents. It's so obvious what is needed and the wild part is we all know nothing will be done to address it, other than maybe acknowledge it.

I agree Buddy, I have wanted Crouse for a few years now. Big, Physical, can score and has a good 200ft game and might not do it all the time but is willing when it's time.

Crouse would be nice, he would lean more towards a Greenway style power forward which is a welcomed addition, but not the singular solution to the Sabres problem.
