Sadly it won’t continue.

They’ll start winning more games because mid season things start to get mundane.

But this team has the heart of a sloth.

That’s not because he’s not playing. Kampf player maybe his best game tonight. He was actually moving his feet. Overall the team played one of their better ones too. Not a Reaves thing man.

I did say that I like the speed the line showed but it was more Gregor (he usually does) but mainly Kampf. I didn’t really notice the other guy too much aside from along the wall a couple times but it was on a forecheck initiated by one of the other 2.

Not arguing for Reaves to be in to provide skill or speed but I will pony out this is the most physical an opposing team has played bs leafs this year. Reaves in wouldn’t have impacted the play of the 4th line. The centre played better defensively tonight. That’s what did it.

Yup.

Reaves in means Keefe can't trust the 4th line for a key draw or to eat some minutes with the lead, so he has to look elsewhere, which means somebody else isn't doing what they're paid to do. It's a net positive when he's out of the lineup.

That LINE was playing awful. It needed a change and both Kampala and Gregor are better players and can skate. Playing against a relatively fast team and realizing you don’t want to mess with the other 3 lines as they are clicking - easy choice to pull Reaves out. But he alone hasn’t been awful. The line has been especially Kampf at his cap and the fact he is much better defensively than he has been by a lot(I like him a lot).

I have seen in my opinion - reaves being the sole cause of 3 goals this season. Kampf I’m at about 5.

Keefe is an idiot who wouldnt know what to do but you arent wrong in Reaves. He has brought very little and honestly the game type has to be up tempo. He just cant keep up. Need a younger gritty type.

Sad part is Marchment was ours.

It wasn't about the goals against for me, it was the fact that the line was in effective and it had a lot to do with Reaves not having the speed to keep up. Watching the games that line was just a black hole.

I mean, Kampf was maybe marginally faster than Reaves. He hasn't skated all season basically, until tonight.

For me, the goals against are pretty much everything. As it seems to be for people on Twitter. Only difference is that their spreadsheets don't show how the goals against happen. If they did, there would've been a lot more talk about Kampf not being even remotely close to earning his newly signed contract. And a lot less focusing on the only guy actually in position that makes a few hundred K more than league minimum.

But the line looked very good today, so they should run with it. Keep Reaves in the box for the next while.

Tree scrambled to try and adjust things on the fly coming in late. This is still very much Dubas's mess thats rinse repeat from the past years and just isnt that good.
