Tonight should go smoothly, especially after the team charter rolled off the taxiway at Republic last night and got stuck in the grass and they got delayed for hours

One of the comments from that reddit thread:

So I’m with my instructor waiting for takeoff when a 737 passes by taxing on a parallel taxiway. A few minutes later we hear the ground controller ask them if they are stuck. Sure enough they went into the grass and almost 6 hours later is still there. A line guy told us later that the Islanders hockey team was on board

EDIT: I confirmed this information with the ground controller

Somehow appropriate.

Engvall healthy scratch tonight. How many more times do we think this happens over the next 6.75 years?

Nice skater and defended, but badly miscast as a top 6 player. Incredible how Lou falls in love with these 3rd and 4th line type players.

What a (frank)ing joke by this guy, I know engvall made a terrible turnover last game but in no way should he be benched before Lee or Martin. Martin had 5:09 in ice last game so what's the point of him even dressing right now? Lane has to go I've seen enough

No way he is benching the captain. Engvall and his 7 year contract gets the attention of the players more than sitting Martin. More than a couple of players that can be sitting.

Probably because they're playing the big, bad Bruins. With Ross Johnston gone, it falls to Martin to be the deterrent to the Bruins running the Isles through the boards. I'm not saying I agree with the decision, but that's likely the thinking.

As far as Lambert goes, I don't care if he gets canned........as long as they have someone better waiting in the wings.

Engvall has been pretty putrid the last few games I don’t think his decision was solely based on that turnover but yeah I agree. Lee is just lost out there. Martin is well Martin. Hasn’t been effective for a long time. This performance from Lee so far this year pretty much puts the rubber stamp on him more then likely being done unfortunately.

Martin won't do a thing bs the bruins, he never does anymore it's a bear hug at the whistle. Fighting is almost irrelevant in the game at this point anyhow. He should be sat and Gauthier should be playing as this team needs more speed

This is another reason for keeping in Martin. Probably will not scare the Bruins though.

It better be a pretty darn good coach with this team.

Lee was slow pre knee injury but Martin does nothing at all at this point. Engvall at least is on a line that creates. Idk this team needs a new voice and another player up front on that top line

Might as well have Holmstrom on that top line. He can skate and play defense. A new coach can be brought in but a big piece for the top line is very difficult.

Well yea but this has been an issue for years although Lou got horvat. The isles still need more high end skill. Also this site is terrible

Lou did get Horvat but it's a lot harder now to add another big piece because of the Cap and less resources to trade. Lou put the team in a bad spot with some of these contracts. This is why having younger and cheaper talent on the 3rd and 4th lines would have opened up more money to spend on the top 6. Too much focus has been spent on the bottom six and not enough on the top 6. It's hard to build a team trying to win 2-1 games.

Yeah Lee has always been slow but he’s been ineffective for the most part in every sense since his knee injury. Was holding out hope we would see something different this season but he actually looks worse.

Yea he's been pretty bad so far but hard to put the team captain in the stands I guess

I don't disagree. Just suggesting what I think the coach's thinking was in playing Martin. Lou is old school. Seems like Lane may be, too.

Blind backhand pass on that one. Or he’ll just throw the puck up the wall like Boychuck used to do. He’s garbage with the puck.
