They haven't invented the fancy stat yet that captures his true value. Once they do we can talk about how many Carters each team had -- and compare that to the Expected Carters.

Our xCarter = 1 and sadly so far our actual Carter has also been 1. I'm not sure if any of our opponents were credited with a Carter. The Avs had JJ so maybe?

After watching endless cycles of defensive laziness, cheating to the offensive side of the puck and forced plays that just aren’t working I would describe Carters commitment to sound positional play, defensive awareness and commitment to getting back to support the Defense as refreshing more so than impressive.

The funny thing is that if it weren’t for grinder no one would be talking about Carter because everyone on the 4th line has been equally bad so who cares about specifically Jeff Carter?

For sure, but the easiest contract to just move on from is Nieto and they should do it and either play a WBS guy there or somehow bring someone in. We all just witnessed changing one player to a line can do wonders, do it again. It may not work but better than rolling the same old out there. Rust/Rakell swap needs done as well.

Hmmm, Acciari at center definitely has non-zero Carter. Nieto is a different kind of worthless player. He skates fast and covers a lot of ice every shift, but somehow still manages to do nothing. Maybe he's racking up Koltzovs?

Interchange Eller and Carter... *could* be a fix worth trying. If successful, it would also put to sleep those posting 4th line Carter stats like the faceoff stats. That one was laughable.
