They said on the radio that the opposing goalie has been in the 3 stars post-game in 4 of the 9 games so far lol

Pens are 0-4 when peppering the goalie with 39+ shots.

- j.boyd919

Lol that's just crazy. It's not like it's all games they are trailing big either.

Top line had some rough games in the first handful but someone around here wants to keep running with the narrative that they're not playing good at all haha, they are, just not burying. I'm really impressed with Rust so far. I was starting to feel like he might be headed towards cooked. His legs and skating are waaaay better than last season....and yeah Jarry is either getting a shutout (2 already) or being one of the biggest reasons they lose. No consistency there.

Well that guy sees Carter clear the zone and has to jump on and make a post pointing it out.

Anyone who can sh!t on Rust at all after all those desperation moves in the crease last night can fly to fvck. Big o'le heart and set of balls on that guy.

I mean the deadful PP is tied directly to Rierden, so I feel like if Sully goes, the whole coaching staff goes tbh.

Now is the time to bring in Bruce "BBQ Sauce" Boudreau

- j.boyd919

That's who I want to come in as well.

Jarry

Maybe trade for a Goalie instead of a overrated weak D in Karlsson

Yeah I was pretty shocked too, Steigy was like "I honestly don't even know what to say about those stats."

Are you available? Maybe they can sign you, since you're Goalie-33. How's your glove hand?

To your point about the dreadful PP, I’m worried that firing Sullivan will lead to interim coach Todd Rierden due to his head coaching experience and familiarity with the organization/our stars. Rierden clearly sucks
- Victoro311

Dubas will bring in a whole new coaching staff if he gets permission to fire Sullivan from FSG. And that's a big if.

Greg Moore was fired from the Marlies when Dubas was let go. He is currently the coach of the US National team. Maybe they are in cahoots to get back together and bring in Cole Eiserman.

Just checked each of the 9 games and if we had league-average goaltending in each one (gave up goals = expected excluding empty netters) then we'd be 5-4 with 10 points, tied with NYI and one back of NJ. (The 2 games that flip are DET and ANA from L to W.)

Overall, we've only given up about 1 extra goal than expected, but the distribution is very skewed: Jarry saved a lot more than expected against WSH and COL but we scored a lot in those games so didn't really need the goalie play, whereas in most of the other games he's given up 2 goals more than he should've have which cost us those games.

I really dont know much on Smith but are him and Rust legit top line F's on a good team? Or would they be really good 3rd liners at this point? With Gutz and Rak not producing, I dont think malkin and crosby can carry the load at their age despite how good they are.

The Pens have about 3 weeks to get above .500 or changes will be made IMO.

Someone get Jarry a sports psychologist. If he already has a shrink then find a better one.

Consistent sv% north of 0.90 will yield positive team results on most nights.

This is why I’m done with Jarry. Sometimes he plays well but you can’t be lights out and also below average. You need to be at least average every game and win some. You can have two stinkers if you start 55 games let’s say. Well he’s out of stinkers for the whole year now.

We need a fresh start. I would honestly prefer to start hellberg or whoever instead of Jarry. Just ride and die with someone who can catch lightning in a bottle for 10 games. And by then either you move on or Jarry understands it’s his career on the line.

Out of 294 different forwards to of played at least 80 mins of 5 on 5 so far this season...Rust is 11th and Smith is 35th in goals per 60 mins of ice time.

Some players lower than them: Rantanen (51st) Kaprizov (56th) Draisaitl (58th) McDavid (77th)

The worst thing about Chicago getting Bedard is having to deal with you Blackhawk fans again. That couple year gap of you guys hopping off the bandwagon was nice.

Okay but I, for one, would like to see him get the job so he can pick fights with Brind'amour in the media again.

When the lines assignment is to win a faceoff against the other teams top line and clear the zone so the first line can jump on with the puck in play it’s noteworthy. They’ve been good at it all year.

Or are they taken off right after that because they can't do anything else. We all know what 4 good lines look like. We seen them. They don't win face offs and jump off the ice. Something needs changed on that line and I'd start with Nieto.

I still can’t believe the Ducks won that game ….

but I’m here to apologize. I went off on a little rant and you guys have been kind enough to let me chat in your forum so I’m sorry…

the penguins didn’t get all calls we just took a ton of dumb penalties…

I still don’t think it was goalie interference … I’ve seen more contact in my aunt Mary’s flag football games.. and she’s a nun…
