For 20 years of the heritage classic, a rematch would have been better. At least the canadiens have media value |

My Golden Knights are already in the outdoor main event this year. The one the world will be watching,
The battle of Alberta is a mid tier regional rivalry on par with Tampa and Florida, but with a national network trying to make it a thing. More people care about roughriders vs blue bombers in Canada.
The only that could have made this game worse is if that one dimensional power play specialist McMerchant was injured. - mr.peanut
I think you're underestimating the battle of 'Berta, there's way more history between the 2 than there is between two (frank)ing Florida teams.

sure, there's some intense games between MTL and OTT as well, doesn't mean that rivalry is at the same level as with TOR or BOS.

Sucks Montreal doesn't have an adequate outdoor facility for this event. How big is saputo? |

Well if you're going to celebrate 20 years of a specific hockey game it would be good to have the 2 teams who participated in it again |

how should I know? soccer definitely isn't my cup of tea lol.
do they really need a permanent facility though for that kind of event? I was under the impression that they could build a temporary venue for that.

Those outdoor games were a novelty 20 years ago ... now I couldn't care less.
Must be fun for the fans sitting half a mile from the ice while freezing their butt in the stands ... |

I think they're celebrating the concept of having these "classic" outdoor games more than that particular matchup. of all the things you could complain about you chose very poorly.

I don't really care that they have outdoor games, except that the quality of play is hindered by the uncontrollable elements. Like outdoor football games, you are at risk of having games that are just sloppy and subpar. |

I think that kind of event is more for the fans who are there to attend the game, watching it on TV isn't all that special.
