Tampa lost to Toronto in overtime of game 7 in the first round, after 3 straight runs to the Stanley Cup and 2 wins. They are old and the Sabres are going to pass them this season because they are a year older.....but not older like the lightning who are olderer.

He was always going to be a decent backup I thought, but this is a revelation. He really has looked solid in the couple games I've watched outside our game. Reminds me of Jake Allen.

Fwiw, he was solid in the few games he played for Colorado last year. Has a .901sv% average over the last 3 seasons in 20 starts.

His first 4 games were not good. A lot of talk about Tampa getting another goalie. Last 3 hes been great. Albeit one against a struggling Hurricanes team and another by a team that doesn't look like it belongs in the NHL.

if you stop 28 of 31 shots and win the game 5-3 it's not bad

hell we would kill for those numbers on many nights

Because they have a pretty, prettay good D, and a F group most of whom play a defensively sound system.

The Toronto Zamboni driver could post a .920 save percentage behind that team.

If .895 isn't good enough here it isn't good over there...

I hear ya, small sample, and two shutouts in a row will booey your save percentage as well. But the last game of his I watched was the Toronto game and I'm pretty sure he broke 50 shots. I think he proved he's an NHL tender there. Whether he reverts to more of a flat .900sv% type backup remains to be seen, but he's definitely better than the ECHL wannabe we labeled him as.

Agreed on TB, but they basically grabbed an SHL goalie and have him playing backup...he pulled a 4 goal .892 in his first start. Seems like Jonas > Ebugs lol.

Wasn't special vs us, you're probably right, was just solid. Sometimes these guys just need to be fed some minutes and they start to grow, like plants with water.
