Guess I boils down to: would a league with a transfer agreement with the NHL honor their suspension? I'd think so.

Think the date he has to sign by to play in the NHL is in December, that wouldn't go away.

The sad part is that Elam is - by all accounts - a very hard worker and he has physical traits. It seems like he just can't figure out how to play at the NFL level.

But yeah, you're right - you cant miss on that pick. The only saving grace is that Benford is at least a serviceable starter that they got late in the draft.
