I would say Dorsey has changed that playback a lot to his liking. Daboll was much better at stacking targets for Josh at different yard levels. I am not taking blame away from Josh but seen a lot of routes where WR's were very close to each other. - Buff36
Daboll had his own set of issues. Still say the big difference is Beasley. Man could get open and Davis simply can't do that nearly enough.

Wow.
So you are going to ignore the rest?
Yes, Allen has generally sucked.
So has a number of players, coaches etc.
They are not getting rid of Allen and his play has fallen off a cliff, sans 1 very good game, in the last 10 or so (didn't look it up). But so has the play calling struggled aft the initial 6 or 7 games to begin last season.
Since Dorsey owns the offense, he is ultimately responsible, and since he is designing and calling the Offense which has been abysmal for awhile now...he gets criticism as well. - IonSabres
I think the QB has the ultimate responsibility….. you know the guy actually throwing and touching the ball.
Dorsey didn’t tell Allen to throw it into triple coverage during the jets game
Dorsey didn’t tell Allen to overthrow Diggs and Davis yesterday
Allen didn’t see the safety on the 1st play of the patriots didn’t. Dorsey’s fault too?

If we had the all 22 .. I think your point about Davis is probly correct. But I can say for certain since I can’t see it.
Kincaid did play the Beasley role pretty well yesterday |

Every offensive coordinator goes to the plays their comfortable with, especially when they're struggling. Dorsey is no better or worse than anyone else in that regard.
The problem is much deeper. They are making a concerted effort to play this way: have a "more effective" running game and keep Allen in the pocket because they're scared of him getting hurt. They talked about it all offseason, during the season, and their play designs confirm it. This is the result you get. The only team that's been remotely successful playing this way in the past decade is the Tennessee Titans, and that's only because of they have an alien as a running back. And even then, the results have been barely more than ordinary in the metric that counts, the win column. Good coaches and organizations let their players do what they do best, and the Bills are doing the opposite. If you make a concerted effort to be something you're not, you're strengths are going to be mitigated.
To parallel this with the Sabres, it's the same reason why their scoring output is down so far. They're making their forwards put much more emphasis on defense this year, which in theory is fine. However, when you assemble a group that's utterly terrible at it like they are, the strengths in your game are going to suffer. |

I said this yesterday. The one positive is that Allen finally figured out Kincaid has a pulse. Hopefully, they can build on it.
Outside of Diggs, I still believe that Trent Sherfield is the best receiver of the bunch and they need to use him more. There's no way he can go from being Miami's 3rd receiver to not good enough to see many targets in this offense. |

That is also why I mentioned I would trade for a good WR and go all out with the offense.
Too many wholes on the defense to fill

They'll never do it unless injuries require it, but I want to see them go 11-personnel with Diggs, Sherfield, Harty and Kincaid. Why the eff not at this point?

Think the best reason would be that you want to go with Comrie in Ottawa.
Sounds likie Comrie tonight, very curious on tomorrow. - Lunaion
Sounds like UPL tomorrow night for the 645 start.
I swear someone yesterday said they were benching Benson, and he wasn't being sat due to recovering from an injury.
Guess the coach is full of poop.
>>> Granato said neither Devon Levi nor Zach Benson are 100% yet so they won’t play on Monday and he’d prefer not to play them Tuesday in Ottawa.

For sure, yet was that the only problem with the O?
-Drops
-Penalties
-Inaccurate throws
-Offensive Line leakage
-Disjointed play calls, very little calls to set up future plays
-Runs from Shotgun that just.don't.work.
The list goes on. Usually when that many miscues happen, look to the top for ineffective leadership.
Yes, I am calling out Dorsey and McDermott. - IonSabres
I approve of this post uncle ion
Well put

I understand that, was answering a ? from a Different post. And have already said in other posts that they can't take away totally what made Josh who he is. But you still need to scheme WR's open and they shouldn't be running into each other while you are trying. You still have to give Josh a good route tree to work with. |

Things sure did change quickly. Week+ in and we're concerned abut Levi's ability to hold up to the kind of workload they wanted to give him and his hold on the #1 job is less secure.
Hope Comrie plays well tonight and ups the competition. - Lunaion
Think they'd send Levi to Rochester to get games in and improve his play?
I'm not sure they would, due to how it would make them and their offseason plans look. |

Should we be worried about bensons durability?
Levi stretched wide split on one save Thursday night
It happens, it’s not over use imo |

Why would they do that? Goalies needs to get used to the speed of the NHL game. Sending him down to a slower game pace does him no good. |

The pride/ego of this front office to have that approach is wildly amatuer and counter productive to the end goal. |

He said yesterday regarding Benson sitting that last season Krebs, JJP and Quinn all rotated in.
I think Donnie likes to do this with rookies, and with good reason IMO. A couple of them said they learned somethings by watching..then took those learnings into practice and games. Sounds completely reasonable to me. |

His play showed he was fatigued.
He made some nice saves. He was also the reason for the first goal and the game winner. And another near Toskala-esque goal against |
|

My buddy just asked me this: what % do you blame Dorsey and the offense:
25% Dorsey - he’s called good games. Sure some plays like the shotgun draw play I hate.
25% on the o line / WR
50% on Allen. - missing throws…. Forcing passes. Locking in on only diggs
Heck! How many times could he have run it for a wide open 1st down and he tries to throw it.
If someone watches the all22 and can see our WR like Gabe Davis can’t get open. Then I increase the WR / O line % and less on Allen |

Absolutely agree Levi looked fatigued
They almost snuck one by him from way out that needed to be reviewed
He also stopped a couple nice breakaways
If comrie steals this starting job, I’m all for it.
Just win

Let's just all be 100% honest. Benson and Levi are being benched and their "minor injuries" are not being ready for an NHL workload |

Of course we should be concerend about Benson's ability to hold up physically to an NHL season.
If a guy shows signs of fatigue and gets hurt, it doesn't mean they are connected, but you shoudn't dismiss it. Probably not going to see him play 4 games in 8 nights again anytime soon.
