I think Cetera was a terrific bass player back in Chicago's glory days but he became such a soft ballad bozo in the 80's

I hate the over produced ballad's of the 80's

Lies, you probably had that stuff on in your room trying to bang drunk fat chicks

The blame lies squarely at the feet of David Foster. I kinda hate him for it, but he was one talented fucker himself!!
- Tonybere

Yeah? I was going to blame Cetera as well. I only own the first 5 Chicago records. The Live at Carnegie Hall box is fantastic.

Absolutely, he was great early on in Chicago. Those saccharine ballads were nauseating though lol

Ever see Leonid & Friends on Youtube? They do amazing covers.

My cousin was a senior at the college I went to when I was a freshman and his advice to me once was "fat girls can suck the chrome off a bumper"

Luckily I never really had to take his advice under consideration, but it always makes me laugh

We all had that friend. My buddy would only bang overweight chicks in HS. He always said, you dont know what you are missing

That’s the equivalent of millennials saying they dont secretly enjoy boy bands. It’s much more liberating to just admit you rock out to “I want it that way” whenever it comes on. No shame. Doesn’t mean you think it’s the pinnacle of good music.

I was never into hair metal. I started my first deep dive into the Beatles around 1986. But, there are certain 80's ballads that have become more meaningful with time and nostalgia!!

Edit: I guess I should also say that by this time I was already a huge Triumph fan. So, those remain some of my favourite Power Ballads.

Winger: Headed for a Heartbreak is probably my fave hair ballad, the outro guitar by Reb beach is top notch
