Played against him a few times in high school before he moved over to Avon. He was incredible, by far the best player I’ve played against although I may have played against Pacioretty and Ben Smith when younger. Probably 0/20 against him on faceoffs. Turned our home games into an away game because the whole town of Farmington followed him around. 91 pts in 24 games - TC88 that cool tho man. You’re like the most famous person here come to think of it. Congrats

He even tried to split 2 defenders on a drive to the net, hope we see more of this from him. - aecliptic
His confidence was apparent |

That's the positive spirit I love and adore.
The Rangers should have scored 6, but didn't. They are (frank)ed. - NYRCeph

Rangers 23 blocked shots, Buffalo 24 shots on goal.
Igor seventh fastest goalie in history to 100 wins.
Laf with a much needed quick start.
Hard to find any fault in the game, solid overall win. - airjan23
Also, something I noticed. Not reckless play that lead to dumb penalties. Benefit of Lavs system? |

Whole line was good. Panarin was Panarin, no complaints there, Chytil making some big defensive plays, especially on the 1st goal |

I know it's one game but Panarin looked so decisive. Not overhandling and losing the puck etc.
The big difference I noticed was that there was almost always players supporting whoever had the puck. There seemed to always be someone available to receive the puck and continue the play. |

It’s one game but man that was a treat to watch. Everyone top to bottom had a terrific game and effort.
You can already see the difference in coaches. I was staunch supporter of GG but I was dead off on that theyll have hiccups along the way, but efforts and games like that take you far.
Drury getting any credit? He gets waaaaay to much heat around here. Nicky Bones is going to be a fan favorite. Guys like him are invaluable for intangibles like that. Gus likes good too. He knows what he’s doing, I suggest we trust him 🤷🏻♂️ |

My friends were in the Nemchinov school in NY and the year before Kovalchuk was drafted, the Russian coaches brought him over and housed him. They brought a 16yo Kovalchuk to a scrimmage one day, they said he was rifling shots from the blue line like theyve never seen before. Was absolutely destroying everyone on the ice. |

Which is a big deal keeping talented players in check. Hyper talented athletes in a loose system will have tendency to improvise and go rogue themselves. Not maliciously, but believing they can make an impact. Take the talent and put it in the right systems, now you have a complete player and team. |

Look, Gallant definitely has had legit success. It's not all a fluke. But he has no system to fall back on when whatever he's having them do is not working. He was also the smuggest interview of all time. |

Hard work is great, and sometimes it gets you there but god given talent can’t be taught. Some people are just born with it. |

True, but I thought the most notable difference in the team tonite was the aggressive forecheck in the neutral zone. Past Rangers teams would always fall back and concede the ice until their own blue line. NO MORE! Opponents now actually have to work and expend energy to get to the Rangers blue line. Hopefully, this is a permanent change and not a one off.... |
