Funny that Vegas wins after they finally choose to stop playing a man down w/ Ryan Reaves.

And who was the goon on Tampa?

Maroon. Tampa had a shutdown 3rd line that could score.

Rhymes so it must be true.

Seriously tho if ND were even a fraction of the player that Maroon was for Tampa then nobody here would be complaining.

This is one of your most ridiculous posts yet. How do you think Laughton or Cam is going to feel about playing 8-10 minutes a night? Cam was one of the best forwards on the Flyers this preseason. Laughton is coming off a career year and should be showcased this season as a good deadline acquisition for a playoff bound team. You still have to think about the locker room and long term. I agree that ND is a bad player but he does serve a purpose for now on the 4th line. My point here is Foerster and Brink will play games and get good minutes this season, and that for this franchise is a step in the right direction. Gauthier coming next season so the Flyers still have work to do to clear another top 9 spot. My guess is Laughton traded at the deadline, Cam with a good season under good belt gets traded in the off season with the Flyers covering some salary. Now next season you have Foerster, Brink and Gauthier full time in the top 9 which is another step forward. You must think long term!

I don't care how Laughton or Atkinson would feel about it. Life is a female dog sometimes. Wasn't Brink also one of the best forwards on the team this pre-season? The premise is how do they avoid the rumored rotation with Brink and Foerster alternating. How do they make room for both to play full time in the top 9 barring making a trade. Who should they choose, the young prospect or the 34 year old Atkinson? How is that not thinking long term? Give me a break with the locker room nonsense. I can see you bought into Tortorella's hook and are a card carrying member of the fan club buying his nonsense. I agree on Laughton which is why I'm keeping him on the 3rd line and choosing to move Atkinson to the 4th line. Clearly said in my post. Speaking of thinking long term, which you obviously aren't with the post you made above. How do you build for the long term? By giving icetime to the 34 year old or the young player?

I'll never get a response about the CEO thing cause he knows he's wrong. And when he's wrong he quickly shoves it under the rug like it never happened, but when someone else is wrong he will NEVER let them forget about it. Dude must have insecurities galore. Eh what?

I love your logic, or should I say lack of logic. Why would I need to shove it under the rug? I brought it up!

I looked through every team in the league, the ones that can be used as example have one thing in common...they are West Coast teams. The others that have young players that have some skill tend to be teams competing with the Flyers for that lottery pick.
Now the contending teams all seem to have grit, toughness and versatility on their 4th line.

So weird.

- Glak18

How many of those contending teams have a player who can't play on their 4th line? If you're not a contending team and are rebuilding. Should you play more young players or more older, grittier, tougher players?

“Waive this guy, send this guy down, put this guy on the 4th line” lol you all crack me up with your interpersonal skills.

A) you need to do right by a guy like Coots and give him a team worth playing on. Talk about slaps in the face… if this guy is gonna stick around during this “rebuild” you still have to give him a team he wants to wake up and play for.

- anti-lame

The only thing that the Flyers are required to give Couturier is what is mandated under the CBA and in his SPC. Somehow you think adding some young talent to the lineup in place of vets with no future is going to anger Couturier to the point of not wanting to play? Somehow with a few more vets and finishing 23rd in the league instead of 28th is going to appease him and make him want to wake up and play? Speculate for me and what do you believe Couturier thinks will give him a better chance of playing on a contending team as a Flyers during his contract? Sticking with the older players who have no future or bringing in some youthful talent? I think part A of your post is a logic fail.

B) same goes with every other pro. Players talk. You want guys to never come to Philly because they treat their NHL pros like trash, demoting them and burying them in the minors/4th line? These are still people you are dealing with. What you think is a massive leap in the rebuild and “player development” is tantamount to a slap in the face to vets/mid career pros and for what? Throwing some kids on the fourth line with zero rhyme or reason? How does that help their game or this team other than losing?

- anti-lame

More logic fail. Flyers have waived and demoted veteran players before. Did that stop players wanting to come to the Flyers. This happens all over the league. It's a business and you do what is best for the team, not for an individual. Allison is a person, with feelings. I can't believe they didn't consider that when waiving and demoting him. What a slap in the face for a mid career pro.

According to the dinosaur Flyer fans...year after year the 4th line is what makes the Flyers so bad.
- Glak18

Part of it for sure. Their insistence of playing older scrap heap players is part of what prevents them from developing young NHL talent.

Read the link that was posted. The Flyers 4th line had a 63.5% Offensive zone start percentage and had a GF% of 21.2%. That's pathetically bad. Not only can't they use them situationally, such as in a defensive role but they have to shelter them deployment wise and they still get caved in. Question for you, when the 4th line is getting Ozone starts, who isn't?

bruh we know you're a cowgirls fan you were bashing the eagles early in the season
- 2Real
We've already been down this road and I've explained the thing about the Cowgirls. And yes, I've bashed the Eagles on here cause sometimes I like doing that to Philly teams cause I'm sick of the other teams being good while the Flyers suck! This isn't an Eagles website , so I have free reign on terrorizing their fans on here.

It’s week 5 …,cool your jets….so much more has to happen. The Eagles played a very, very good road game today. Hopefully the 49 r’s learn how to protect the QB this year when it counts. Lol.
- landros 2

Week 5 is to NFL season ~ what the 18 min mark is to a NFL game. It's early sure, but doesn't mean trends cannot be discerned, especially if they are strong.

Also, I have never heard of a NFL team playing a good "road game." In NFL, teams largely play the same way away as at home, except perhaps adjusting for crowd noise in snap count (under center/silent count etc.). You Canadians: always with the hockey metaphors.

And you better pray they DON"T protect their qb, as you saw yesterday what that team is like. Dallas is a good team.

But I don't want to be all negative. I was just watching the Redd1ck last sack again.

They tried to chip him with a RB and then have the RB release into the flat. But here is the thing. The other guy on RedRichard's side was the back up RT, who had just come in I believe. This is Warren McClendon (WM), who played at Geogia and was a teammate of Jalen Carter (JC). His job is to help contain Redd1ck and perhaps slide in if Redd1ck takes the inside (which Redd1ck NEVER does but hey WM is a rookie). JC is next to Redd1ck btw.

Now, WM knows what JC can do. So, even though JC is double teamed, when the ball is snapped, he sneaks a quick nervous glance at JC, which means Redd1ck is by him and bowls over the RB, and by the time WM comes to Redd1ck, all he does is push the guy right into his qb.

And he should be nervous of JC. For JC DESTROYS his double team and bull rushes the center flat on his ass. He should get an assist on the Redd1ck sack. That sack and the fact that a RB is ending up trying to block Redd1ck w/0 help, is because of the havoc JC wreaked throughout the game and consequent nervousness.

So, yeah, better pray Purdy is out and JC is in when we play them in the playoffs, because that game is gonna be at candlestick and we will need a dawg-gone prayer.
