Still in the hospital in Minny
I've read different things on recovery time
Hope the kid is going to be ok - captainserious
Broken? If so, that's awful. No wonder he was screaming in pain. |

They haven't confirmed anything yet.

Because it would still be Toews's team and they very clearly want it to be Bedards team.
It isn't a crap move. It's perfectly reasonable. He brought three cups made tens of millions of dollars in the process and now it's time to move on and let the new group come through without any impediments. - fattybeef
This might sound like sacrilege but what has 19 done throughout the duration of his last contact worth 10.5m a year?
I love the guy and I have his jersey but would argue this city doesn’t owe him anything sentimental. |

I agree that Kane should not come back. When he was on the ice everyone looked to him and thus did not play their game. I don't understand not having Toews. He would be a better role model than anyone they brought in. What Bedard could learn from him would be valuable for Bedard down the road. It just does not make sense. It was a crap move on KFC's part. That is not how you treat someone who brought you three cups. And if Danny Wirtz gave the okay, then the Wirtz family values haven't changed a bit. - bjphawkfan
Hawks owe toews absolutely nothing. He wouldnt be playing in any case. |

... Maybe he is a cancer but I think he might provide a role model for Bedard better than Perry or Foligno...
- stevefrmglencoe
You might have just pointed out why it was that maybe 88 would -not- provide a better role model, or indeed, leadership model for anyone.
If it's about setting a different identity -and from everything I have read from people running the organisation, it is -essentially they have been very consistent in saying that that ship has sailed ... isn't happening - wasn't ever going to happen.

So say the Hawks finish with 87 points this year and out of the playoffs of course, would you sign Toews(if declared healthy)to play 3C the next two seasons for say $3M AAV? Please note that the C would still go to Bedard, what say you? |

No! Also own a Toews jersey and his contributions to three Cups are innumerable but not sure what he can contribute even if declared healthy.
Great player, great leader but time to move on. |

According to a post from the Gatinueau Olympiques, Samuel Savoie underwent successful surgery on Sunday morning for what they are reporting to be a femur injury. |

Didn’t Towes say that a lengthy rebuilding process was “unappealing “ to him?

I was being ironical, and giving D the gears. I think now that they’re gone, it’s in no one’s best interests to get them back in any playing capacity. Unless either coaches I expect to see them back one day as ambassadors. |

Not really his fault. Before long haul covid he was a top 10 center in the league and certainly in his prime (mid 20s) top 3 or 5 depending on how you want to argue. He should get a nice ceremony and a statue for sure. His goal against Colorado in that first televised game was f*cking magical.
Put up 35 and 46 his 30 year season. When he was healthy last year he looked good. When he was fatigued or whatever he looked not so good.
Really a crappy way to end his career but it's not like its anything anyone could control.
I don't think its about owing anyone anything its more that it was time to move on. The biggest complaint everyone had was how long Seabrook was around and giving him big money in his 30s after all the miles. This is kind of similar plus it's just time to turn the team over to a new group. It was a mostly great run and thats just the way professional sports are now. |

Noted. My comment was a response to all the posts regarding signing Toews for a sentimental journey. |

Toews is sitting out the season so it's a moot point isn't it?

Crevier is SLOW - LAHawk
Thanks... but trees blow in the breeze, and hockey trees smash the oncoming attackers, and their feet are less an issue when they begin their smashing...
