Question to the board. Does anyone think Davidson will make another trade before the regular season starts, or is he done and this what he and the coaching staff going with? - Scott1977
I don't think KD is making any calls but is answering all incoming calls. As the season approaches and rosters need to be cut down, or trades to be made, there will be squads needing to shed money and KD will help, for a price of course. Philly will be taking calls too so KD has some competition.
It's probably at least a yr early for KD to look to add a blueblood prospect or legit young top 6 or top two pairing young Dman. ....... Plus, KD has to see what he has with all the deserving rookie Dmen throughout the yr. Numbers game at defense right now and even though maybe 3-4-5 of the forwards are with the club in 3-4 yrs as mentioned probably a yearish too early to give up assets for a true top F prospect.
Any trade will probably be a salary dump for draft picks.

Today is the first day of a dynasty? Debatable, but what's not is today is the start of a new era. No Kane and Toews for the first time in forever as time marches on.
Enjoy hockey fans.. As my hero Al Bundy says, "lets rock".........
Whatchya got KK? Lardis? Misiak, Marcel, Allen??..... Reichel as a centerman in the bigs??? First full season of a 15 yr career Kaiser. |

First thought, lotta speed. 2nd, Vlasic's skating has taken a jump. Much lighter feet. A purpose to his stride. |

Especially trying to handle the puck on the PP at the blueline!! Gotta get that guy down low every time or you'll pay. Add Jones to the PP and there will be a lotta shorty chances against.
Be nice if Vosters tells you who has the puck. Who's playing for STL? ..Dude still sucks.

Agree. I feel Jones tries to force everything. He never lets the game come to him or wait for decent opportunities. He plays best when he just simplifies his game. |

Let's see how quiet Commesso plays. .... Technical with athleticism there if needed. |

All the younger defenders are playing to their strengths.
Are we faster b/c they all seem to get movement is essential?
And Kaiser is a defenseman first, smart down there. He is figuring it out all over the sheet pretty quickly. |

The comparison with Corey Crawford that I have read is close and a nice early description of the rookie goalie.
Corey was so under-rated as an excellent home plate area goalie.
And Comesso is efficient and it looks like he is keeping the glove higher, something in the last seasons, especially when an opposing shooter is bearing down with room, he seemed to place it lower than I think they are expected to have it. |

Does Voster really have to give us Bedard's ice position every 3 seconds?? Even when the kid's not directly in the play? Hell, couple of times he's almost been off camera.
Sorry, i just find him annoying at best |

I'm guessing that the ice in those small Western Canadian rinks was a lot more favorable to Bedard than the soft ice he's going to deal with in Chicago. |

Softer ice, bigger and faster opponents, less time and space are things he’ll need to deal with. He’ll figure it out.
I’ve been watching Reichel tonight. I like a few things, his speed, willing to fight for the puck but I really like his positional play. A few times when a defenseman has pinched, Reichel has taken his position at the point. |

With 5 and half minutes left, Bedard gets the puck to Hall, but, no, he doesn't...
They need the emergence of a draft prospect who is in the very same spot Hall was with defenders closing, who handles that puck and gets the shot off (that Hall didn't).
Quite specific I am when hall and Bedard got bunched together. |

I know Paulie will be miffed, but KK has looked pretty noticeable to my untrained eye. |

53 Marcel Marcel So, since it seems like we already found our future big redwood at forward, after the kid showed us he can play all phases (and maybe get better at them as he develops as a pro), can now be when his name is officially changed to Marcel?
Especially since there are a scant number of NHL Marcels playing NHL, it is not like we need to differentiate him from another. |

Murphy skating back for the puck and Korchinski just blows by him to cover for him, nice to see the second gear by a defenseman, like KKs stick on stick work as well. |

How about Betsy's smarts in OT as he manages to fake coverage to get himself to his own bench after a far too long OT shift.
HAWKS Win!
The Greek Festivals across the country begin!
Kaiser simply played simple
Vlasic played large and Allen snuffed some out on the wall.
KK played his speed
All played strong |
